When people think of Mardi Gras in Orlando, they often think of Universal Orlando. They do have a great celebration, don’t get us wrong, but there’s also a Disney World hotel that has Mardi Gras vibes year-round!

We love staying at Port Orleans French Quarter for many reasons, one of them being the theme of the resort, but close to Mardi Gras, they have something extra special happen that you can’t see every day. We made sure we were in a great spot to see it today, so you can add it to your list for next year—here’s how to see a special Mardi Gras Parade!
This parade only happens ONCE a year, and you’ll see some incredibly decorated golf carts make their way along the Sassagoula River from Port Orleans Riverside to Port Orleans French Quarter. They’ve all been decorated by Cast Members, and each year, there’s a different “theme.” This year’s theme was Heroes and Villains!

It’s so much fun to see all the different golf carts, and see how creative these Cast Members can get. We spotted an Alice in Wonderland “float” that was SO incredibly detailed, we couldn’t believe it!

To balance the heroes out with the villains, we spotted a Queen of Hearts “float” soon after that also looked incredible!

We got to see some very dedicated parade participants that were decked out in blue paint too look like Hades. Now THAT was impressive!

But then, we saw the float come right after it, and our jaws DROPPED.

Just LOOK at that detail! We cannot believe our eyes — the Cast Members really stepped it up this year!

At the end of the parade, Cast Members walk by with QR codes that you can scan to vote for your favorite. There was definitely tough competition this time around.

Unfortunately, the parade is already said and done for this year, but you can add it to your calendar for next year to ensure you won’t miss it. We know we’ll be there again, for sure!
