Planning a trip to Disneyland and not sure where you should eat while you’re there? Luckily, you’ve come to the right place!

Here at AllEars, we know all the ins and outs of Disneyland restaurants — including where you should definitely stop by or where you may want to skip. We recently stopped by Troubadour Tavern in Disneyland Park and are bringing you our FULL review!
Background
Troubadour Tavern is located across from Fantasyland Theatre and is a quick-service location featuring a menu of tasty bites and drinks inspired by medieval times.

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.
Atmosphere
This spot is pretty tucked away, and if the Pixar Pals Playtime Party show is happening at the theatre at the time you’re trying to eat, it’ll be extra hard to find seating.

It’s already severely limited here, so it’ll be easier to eat and walk, or find somewhere else to sit that has more seating. There is some shaded seating next to the theatre and bathrooms, but it’s not very abundant.

But enough about that, what are we eating?!
Food & Drinks
First up, we grabbed the Fireside Mac & Cheese Bites for $11.49. These are Fried Gouda Mac and Cheese Bites tossed in Four-Chile Rub.

We loved that there’s a spicy version AND a non-spice version for those who don’t do well with the heat. We opted for the spicy, and while it had a kick for sure, it didn’t burn our mouths in any way, but it did linger! The breading was light, but the mac and cheese wasn’t as creamy as we would’ve liked. We could see this being a hit for kids or adults who don’t like spice, but it wasn’t anything to write home about.

We also tried the Chicken Pot Pie Baked Potato for $11.99, which is Chicken Pot Pie Filling with Pie Crust Crumble.

This certainly tastes like a chicken pot pie in potato form! The peas and carrots are ample and when mixed with the chicken, you can forget you’re eating a baked potato. The pie crust texture is a nice addition that really brings everything together. The chicken was cooked nicely and seasoned well, and this whole dish tasted like a hearty home-cooked meal! This is certainly shareable, so we definitely recommend sharing with more than one person, or using it as a full meal!

To drink, we picked up the Dancing Shimmering Lights for $7.99. This is made with Sweet Berry Lemonade with Blackberry Topper and Colorful Sanding Sugar.

There’s a bit of a blue raspberry flavor here and the lemonade isn’t too prevalent — it tastes more like a blue icee. The cream definitely has the blackberry flavor and adds a little thickness to the drink. It’s like an elevated blue icee, and while it did turn our mouth blue, we would totally get it again!
Magic or Tragic?
This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…
- You’re looking for somewhere quick and easy to eat
- You want to grab something before or after the Pixar Pals Playtime Party
- You have kiddos or are a pickier adult who wants some slightly more exciting (yet safe) options
You should skip this Disney World spot if…
- You want a sit down restaurant
- You’re looking for a fancier meal
- You want something that will really blow your mind

Overall, we’d definitely stop here again, and we give the Dancing Shimmering Lights and Chicken Pot Pie Baked Potato a 5/5. While we weren’t super impressed with the Fireside Mac & Cheese Bites, we still don’t think anything here is bad in any way!

In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disneyland and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news and more!
