Magic Kingdom has a LOT of different construction projects going on, and one of them has just been completed!
Astro Orbiter just reopened in Tomorrowland, Big Thunder Mountain Railroad will still be under construction for some time, Villains Land is under construction, and we’re waiting for Piston Peak construction to begin soon in Frontierland. However, another project just finished up in the park — the newest store in Disney World is now open!
Prairie Outpost is the newest shop in Magic Kingdom, and it’s your one-stop shop for all the hats you’ll ever need! Disney released information that this formerly closed shop would be opening as a new hat shop a few weeks ago, and now it’s officially open!
Here you’ll find top hats, visors, sun hats, ball caps, fascinators, berets, and so much more. You’ll find discounts for Annual Passholders, military members, Cast Members, and if you’re staying at Disney Springs Resorts.
What we think is really cool about this shop is that it has pins that are magnetic to your hat so you don’t poke or damage it, bands that are elastic to fit around them, feathers to decorate, and there are even a few jeweled bands that are themed for the Magic Kingdom lands. You’ll find a frog for Tiana, the castle for Main Street, pirate skull and crossbones for Adventureland, and the black and silver skulls for Haunted Mansion.
If you want to purchase a hat, then pick it up later in the day, you can! You’ll need to pick up your hat at least half an hour before park closure. This is great because you don’t have to worry about carrying it around all day or potentially damaging it.
