Happy Mardi Gras!
Disney World knows a thing or two about celebrating holidays, and Mardi Gras is no exception. Today, the annual Pargo Parade took place at Disney’s Port Orleans French Quarter and Riverside, and this year’s “floats” were amazing!
This rare parade only happens once a year, and Cast Members work hard to create fun golf cart floats. The parade starts at Port Olreans Riverside and finishes at Port Orleans French Quarter, where there is a whole celebration, including food and merchandise. During the parade, Cast Members get to show off their hard work all while candy and beads are handed out. Let’s take a look at some of this year’s “floats.”
This year’s Disney World Ambassadors led the parade, and all the golf cart floats were themed to The Magical Music of Disney.
The Riverside Front Office Cast Members showed off their Moana-themed cart!
How fitting that there was a Princess and the Frog cart!
The Riverside Housekeeping and Custodial Cast Members themed their cart to Coco. The cart featured portraits of characters who passed in the film, cast Members’ family members, and even Walt and Roy Disney!
The Aladdin cart featured a HUGE Magic Lamp with the Genie popping out of it!
Look how fun this A Goofy Movie cart is made by the Resorts Duty Manager Team of Cast Members.
Muppets fans will love this cart that is themed after the Electric Mayhem!
They even had Animal playing the drums!
This team of Cast Members went all out and dressed up as some of the characters from Encanto.
Guests watching the parade could vote for their favorite carts.
This is such a fun “hidden” secret of Disney World. If you want to see this parade, you will have to wait until next year’s Mardi Gras, as it only takes place once a year at the Port Orleans Resorts.
