We’ve been watching Hurricane Milton all week and now that it has passed over Florida, those impacted in the state are figuring out the next steps.

Disney World recently announced that the theme parks and Disney Springs would reopen on October 11th, and shortly after, Universal Orlando confirmed the same reopening date for its theme parks. Now, if you have been wondering about the status of Orlando International Airport, we have an update.
On Tuesday, October 8th, Orlando International Airport announced that it would be ceasing commercial operations as of 8AM on Wednesday, October 9th. Since then, the airport has been open for emergency, medical, and relief flights.

Now, after assessing the damage from Hurricane Milton, the airport has announced that departures will resume tomorrow, October 11th. Although the airport will receive a few domestic arrivals on the evening of October 10th, please do NOT come to the airport for a departing flight. MCO urges you to check with your airline for the latest updates as there will be no departures until October 11th.
