Mystery SOLVED: We Finally Know What Disney’s Doing With This Abandoned Building

There is an abandoned building in Disney Springs that has had us wondering for a while. We have been wanting the old NBA Experience (formerly the location of DisneyQuest) to be used for something and now our wish has been granted.

While we had quite a few grand ideas for what could go into this space, we now have an answer for what Disney is doing with this abandoned building in Disney Springs! At least for a little bit…

The abandoned NBA Experience building is now home to the Disney Fantasia x Pleasing pop-up shop. This pop-up officially opened at Disney Springs on September 28th, 2024, and features a 30-piece collection. Pleasing is a beauty and lifestyle brand owned by Harry Styles that was launched in November 2021.

Pleasing has teamed up with Disney to produce an exclusive Fantasia collection featuring clothing, accessories, and body products. On opening day, the pop-event was so popular that Cast Members utilized a virtual queue to control traffic. The virtual queue was an estimated five hours at 9:50AM in the morning, with the pop-up event opening at 10AM.

However, we stopped by Disney Springs this morning and were able to walk right into the pop-up event when it opened at 10AM. No long lines and no virtual queue needed! So, let’s take a look inside of this pop-up event and some see some of the merchandise you can get.

The 30-piece collection fuses “Disney’s visual magic with a pinch of Pleasing wonder.” The inside of the pop-up was full of character. The pop-up is open daily from 10AM until 11PM through October 27th, 2024.

You can find a variety of beauty products such as Big Lip, Hand & Nail Balm, and more. There is lots of color and lots of gorgeous plants throughout.

We also loved that there was even a small theater inside that was playing the movie. It was definitely a hit with kids and adults alike!

The collection includes a variety of sweatshirts, long sleeve shirts, button-up shirts, socks, and hats. Each piece has a nod to the Fantasia movie and a touch of the Pleasing brand as well.

In addition to clothing, you can also find a selection of beauty products. There is Big Lip, Hand & Nail Balm, and there will eventually be a nail polish collection, but it is only available via pre-order right now.

You can also find some notebooks with fun designs including Sorcerer Mickey.

There are also towels and bags available as part of the collection. Currently, you can only shop this collection at two pop-up locations (the one at Disney Springs and one in Houston, TX) or at two select Disney stores in New York and London. However, the collection will be available online beginning October 4th, 2024.

While we enjoyed visiting this pop-up event, we were a little disappointed that Harry Styles wasn’t incorporated more into the pop-up. None of his songs were playing and there wasn’t even a photo of him inside. However, the collection looks great, and we are excited that the NBA Experience is being used for something!
