Disney loves to celebrate, and they’ve made it easy for you to join in.

When you visit Disney World, you’ll notice guests wearing special buttons that let everyone know they’re celebrating something special. These little souvenirs are completely free, and you can pick one up at Guest Relations, your Disney hotel front desk, or most merchandise locations in the parks. Today we’re walking you through every type of celebration button you can get, what each one looks like, and why you may want to grab one for your next trip.
First Visit Button
The First Visit button is one of the most popular. The design features Mickey and the gang (Mickey, Minnie, Donald, Daisy, Goofy, and Pluto) all together with the words “1st Visit!” at the bottom all on an orange background.

There is still a bit of space at the bottom for Cast Members to personalize it. This button is perfect for kids, but Disney is quick to remind everyone that it doesn’t matter how old you are—your first trip deserves to be celebrated. Guests often wear this button proudly, and Cast Members usually go out of their way to congratulate anyone sporting one.
Birthday Button
Birthdays at Disney World are a big deal, and the birthday button makes it official. This design features Mickey in a birthday day holding a birthday cake and streamers and confetti in the background with the words “Happy Birthday!”, and at the bottom and a space where your name can be written in marker.

The background is light blue, so the lettering really pops. It’s a simple button, but it’s instantly recognizable. When you wear a birthday button, you’ll probably hear “Happy Birthday!” shouted at you all day long—from Cast Members, characters, and even other guests. Some restaurants may even bring you a little extra treat with your meal, although that’s not guaranteed. Still, there’s nothing quite like spending your birthday in the parks with a button that lets everyone know you’re celebrating.
I’m Celebrating Button
If your reason for celebrating doesn’t fall into one of the other categories, the “I’m Celebrating” button is the one for you. The design is a bright green background with Goofy holding a present and wearing a party hat and blowing a kazoo with streamers and confetti behind him.

In the middle, it simply says, “I’m Celebrating!” with space underneath to write in whatever you’d like. That’s where you get to be creative. Guests use these for all sorts of occasions—new jobs, graduations, retirements, recoveries, or even just making it through a tough week.

This button is the most versatile of them all, and it’s a great way to let Disney help you mark a personal milestone.
Happily Ever After Button
Romance is another reason people flock to Disney, and the Happily Ever After button is designed for just that. The background is a soft purple with silver and gold Mickey head shaped rings interlocked with Cinderella Castle behind them.

Across the middle, it reads “Happily Ever After.” It’s given to newlyweds, honeymooners, couples celebrating anniversaries, or even those who recently got engaged or renewed vows. The button has a romantic, storybook feel, and Cast Members often notice it right away. Wearing this button can spark sweet moments in the parks, like a congratulatory wave from a character or a little extra pixie dust at dinner.
What Wearing a Button Really Means
Aside from the fun designs, wearing a celebration button at Disney World is about more than the accessory itself. There aren’t any official perks tied to the buttons, but Cast Members are always quick to recognize them. You might get extra smiles, a friendly shout-out, or even a little bit of magic during your day.

Some guests have received complimentary desserts, but those moments are surprises, not guarantees. The real benefit is the atmosphere it creates—your button becomes a conversation starter, a memory maker, and sometimes the reason for an unexpected magical interaction.
Where to Get Your Celebration Button
If you’re ready to wear your own, it’s easy to pick one up. Head to Guest Relations at any of the four parks, stop by the front desk at your Disney resort hotel, or check at most merchandise locations on property.

Cast Members will be happy to give you the button that matches your occasion. The best part is that they’re totally free, so there’s no reason not to grab one.
Make Your Celebration Memorable
There are countless ways to celebrate while you’re at Walt Disney World, but wearing a button is one of the simplest. It costs nothing, adds to the fun, and sometimes leads to magical surprises you wouldn’t have experienced otherwise. Whether you’re marking your very first visit, blowing out birthday candles, celebrating love, or just toasting to a personal victory, there’s a Disney celebration button waiting for you.

So if you’ve got a trip planned, think about what you’re celebrating and grab the button that matches. You never know what kind of special memories it might help create.
