This Iconic Magic Kingdom Attraction Reopens NEXT WEEK!

We have great news for those of you visiting Magic Kingdom later this month!

There are lots of popular rides over in Magic Kingdom, one of which is Peter Pan’s Flight. It’s a classic, family-friendly ride that garners quite the lengthy wait times on almost any given day. Just over a month ago, the ride closed for refurbishment with the promise that it would be opening back up in just a few short weeks. Here’s your reminder that that reopening date is NEXT WEEK!

That’s right! On August 21st, Peter Pan’s Flight will reopen from its month-and-a-half long closure, ready to delight guests once again.

So why the closure? Well, oftentimes Disney World rides need to go under scheduled maintenance just to ensure they’re kept working safely and smoothly.

However, we spoke to a Cast Member before the closure who shared with us that Disney World originally built the ride first and THEN the building was built around it, making it more difficult than most to refurbish. The Cast Member added that this is the oldest ride system in Disney World, meaning it’s challenging to keep running how it should.

According to what they knew of the refurbishment, we could see a fresh coat of paint, some new or refurbished lighting, and updated welding to be prevalent throughout the ride.

If you’re thinking of riding this newly refurbished ride during your Disney World trip but don’t want to wait in that long line, we totally get it. If you’re trying to figure out if it’s worth it, the queue for the ride is very interactive and is a must-do at least once, but after that, we suggest trying to skip the line by using Lightning Lane Multi Pass if you’ve purchased it for the day.
