Disney Adults Have Spoken: THIS Is the Magic Kingdom Restaurant Change We Need

Disney adults have a DEMAND!

Recently, Disney announced that the Beast will once again be meeting guests in his study at the popular Be Our Guest Restaurant (the character originally did so when the restaurant first opened, before transitioning to asking the restaurant while guests ate for a period). However, it turns out that most fans were desperate for something different to return. 

When we posted about the changes to the Beast meet and greet on our Facebook page, we were met with a DELUGE of guest comments pleading for the return of a different discontinued part of the Be Our Guest experience: Quick Service Lunch. 

When Be Our Guest first opened along with the rest of the Magic Kingdom’s Fantasyland expansion, the restaurant was unique amongst Disney properties in that it offered quick service seating and meal options for breakfast and lunch, before closing of a period and transitioning to table service for dinner. This arrangement allowed the two earlier meals to move through guests quicker, in-turn allowing more of them to experience the expansive rooms and intricate Beauty & the Beast theming, and for a slightly cheaper meal to boot. 

However, when Be Our Guest reopened in the summer of 2020 following Walt Disney World’s pandemic-related closures, the restaurant had changed. Breakfast was eliminated entirely, and lunch transitioned to a price-fixe table service menu just like the dinner offering. 

Judging by the reaction of many of our readers, it seems like to say that a large percentage of Disney guests would likely welcome quick service lunch back to Be Our Guest. 

Many readers expressed that hope on our Facebook post about the Beast’s return. Reader Julie said, “Got too excited thinking it was gonna be the return of the quick serve lunch” while reader Linda chimed in succinctly with “Big Whoop. I’ll be excited when they bring it back as a quick serve for breakfast and lunch.”

Meanwhile, many expressed similar sentiments to Reader Bill, who said “The exciting change would have been back to offering it is a lunch dining like when it opened.”

As reader Loretta summed everything up, “Hoping that the QS lunch will return. We totally loved our delicious lunches back in the day and miss them. The menu was one of our favorites.“

While the return of the Beast to his study is a welcome improvement, many of our readers were hoping the big return to Be Our Guest would actually be quick service lunch! Stay tuned to AllEars for further coverage of Walt Disney World’s restaurants.
