Voting Is Happening on Disney’s $1.9 Billion Investment

A major day in the history of the Disney Theme Parks is fast approaching!

The Disneyland Resort has tremendously evolved since it opened in 1955 with the addition of new lands, rides, and a second theme park. However, its biggest expansion could be in the form of the proposed multi-billion dollar DisneylandForward project — which is nearing a MASSIVE milestone.

Monday, March 11th, 2024, is set to be a huge day for Disney, as that’s the day Anaheim’s Planning Commission is set to vote on DisneylandForward — possibly transforming it from concept into reality.

The project would expand the Disneyland Resort to create more theme park attractions, lands, hotels, entertainment options, restaurants, and, possibly, a brand new park.

The proposed plan would have Disney commit $1.9 billion towards the expansion within a 10-year window. More information about the DisneylandForward can be found here.

The meeting will be held for public viewing at 5PM at the Anaheim City Hall and can be viewed online at the city’s website. This is the first vote on the project after months of public workshops, and the City Council can give official consideration of the project on April 16th, 2024.
