As part of Disney World’s 50th Anniversary Celebration, an impressive array of golden statues boasting the 50th medallion made their way into the parks.

These statues quickly became park icons for many guests and made for great photo ops and scavenger hunts alike! Plus, those with a MagicBand+ could even interact with the statues. At the end of the 50th Anniversary Celebration, Disney fans began to wonder what would become of the statues that we had all fallen in love with. Well, Disney just shared our answer.
We will no longer be calling them the “50th Anniversary statues.” Henceforth and forevermore, we will simply call them the gold statues!

Why? Well, Disney just shared that Imagineers have been making rounds to each of the statues to add some pixie dust to make them TIMELESS!
✨We have FAB-ulous news!✨ Over the next few months, Imagineers are sprinkling a touch of timeless pixie dust to refresh the Disney Fab 50 Character Collection across all 4 @WaltDisneyWorld theme parks so you can continue to discover and interact with all 50 characters! pic.twitter.com/tYgPppxXX7

So, basically, the 50th logo is probably being removed so that the statues can simply be without necessarily commemorating the celebration.

And yes, you can still interact with each of them like before!

We’re so glad that the statues are here to stay! We’ll continue to keep you updated with more Disney news, so make sure to follow along so that you’re always in the loop.
