Walt Disney Imagineers Get New Name Tags for 70th Anniversary

We’ve celebrated a lot of Disney anniversaries recently.

There is, of course, the 50th anniversary for Disney World, plus Disneyland Paris just celebrated its 30th anniversary, and EPCOT’s 40th anniversary is coming up soon, too! In addition to all of these exciting milestones, Walt Disney Imagineering, the division of the company responsible for the design and creation of the Disney theme parks, is celebrating its 70th anniversary.

Walt Disney Imagineering will be 70 years old this December, and to celebrate, Imagineers received a special 70th anniversary name tag! Zach Riddley, an Imagineer with the Walt Disney Company, shared an image of the new name tags on Instagram.

The new tags are metallic, have the Imagineer’s name, and says Walt Disney Imagineering on it. There’s also a special 70th anniversary log on the top of the name tags that has an image of Sorcerer Mickey from Fantasia.

With the D23 Expo just around the corner (festivities begin this Friday!), we can expect a lot of news and information about new and ongoing projects in the Disney parks from Walt Disney Imagineering.

And if you’re looking for ways you can celebrate a Disney anniversary, you may not be able to celebrate Imagineering’s 70th anniversary, but you can celebrate Disney World’s 50th anniversary for a few more months! You can find 50 gold statues scattered around the parks for the celebration, and there are tons of new things to try for the anniversary, too.
