Before you head to Disney World, you’ll definitely want to check out the calendar online.
Not only does the online calendar show the park hours, but it also displays some showtimes and lists the current refurbishments and closures for rides, attractions, and other offerings. And if you checked the calendar today, then you would’ve noticed a new ride added to that list!
We reported a while back that Expedition Everest at Disney’s Animal Kingdom would be closing for a three-month refurbishment. That closure started today, and we stopped by to see what it looks like over there!
For starters, the entrance area was closed off to guests. Also, there were construction walls blocking off the queue.
Other parts of the attraction were blocked from view as well, although it’s pretty hard to hide the entire nearly-200 ft. mountain from guests.
The gift shop, however, remained open. Inside, we found the same yeti-themed merchandise that was here before!
So don’t worry, Disney won’t stop you from buying all those Expedition Everest souvenirs while the ride is closed.
When we walked to the back, the screens where you usually find your PhotoPass pictures were off.
And the unloading area was blocked off with what looks to be a garage door. No peeping on that construction!
We’ll keep our eye on Everest in the next few months to see what’s going on, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest updates and news!
