Severe weather, including strong thunderstorms and heavy rain, can impact Disney World, particularly in the summer.

Recently, we shared an update about potential severe weather concerns for Disney World for this week, and now it seems more weather concerns could impact things just outside of the Most Magical Place on Earth.
According to a Tweet posted by the Orlando International Airport, weather concerns and thunderstorms in the area today could cause delays, cancellations, and baggage delivery delays at the airport today.

The airport has also posted the Tweet from the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), noting potential delays at airports beyond just Orlando. Other spots where you may experience delays include Fort Lauderdale, Miami, and more.
Due to weather/thunderstorms, airline operations may be impacted with flight delays/cancellations and baggage delivery delays. ⛈️ Please check with your airline directly for any updates in regards to their ops. For general airport delays, visit: https://t.co/rnO8s3XszB https://t.co/KeK4VTqfuQ

You can also check the FAA website for more general information about delays. According to the website, Orlando International Airport is experiencing some general departure delays between 16-30 minutes in length. There are also slightly longer delays for flights heading to Dallas.
Arrivals do not seem to be too delayed, as the FAA notes that “arrival traffic is experiencing airborne delays of 15 minutes or less.”

Of course, all of these delays are subject to change as the situation with the weather evolves. If you’re planning on flying from or to the spots mentioned above, just be sure to check for updates as to how your flight may be impacted (if at all).

And, if you’ll be in Disney World today, be prepared for some rainy weather. You can click here to check out our post all about why and when weather closes rides in Disney World.

We’ll be on the lookout for more details. Stay tuned for all the latest updates!
