Would You Want to Live in a House Designed By a Disney Imagineer?

Disney imagineers play a huge role in creating the magic of Disney Parks.

Imagineers, aka Disney’s name for their team of engineers, artists, scientists, designers, architects, and more, are behind the designs for so many of our favorite rides, lands, and developments of Disney Parks. Now, a house that was actually designed by a Disney Imagineer has hit the market in California, so let’s see what it’s like!

As reported by The Sacramento Bee, this Lake View Terrace, California home was designed by Fred Joerger, one of the original three Disney Imagineers who was also behind the designs of Sleeping Beauty Castle and the Matterhorn in Disneyland! The home was built in 1953.

This estate, which comes to 2,892 square feet and is now known as Villa di Fontana, also contains artwork by famous Disney artists such as Tyrus Wong, who worked on Around the World in 80 Days, and Walt Peregoy, who was an animated cartoon background painter, as reported by Realtor.com.

The property is made of three bedrooms and three bedrooms, with green landscaping consisting of magical waterfalls, an indoor waterfall, and a Koi pond. Realtor.com noted that the fish sculptures around the property are inspired by Mary Poppins, and the landscaping even uses the same forced perspective effects used in many Disney attractions.

According to The Sacramento Bee, the listing also cites bookend marble in the bathooms, outdoor gardens for every bedroom, stained glass windows, skylights, and more. The house has been fully restored with special care given to all the artistic details.
