For a while there, we thought we weren’t going to see Marvel content for quite some time. While WandaVision is still set for a December debuted, fter the Black Widow and Spider-Man 3 were delayed, there was a question on when more super hero content would be making its way to the big screen or Disney+.

However, we recently received a TON of Marvel news about WandaVision premiering this December, Nick Fury getting his own series, and Tatiana Maslany being cast in She-Hulk. That’s not all, though! Now we have news about Disney+’s next super hero series that will change the Marvel game!

Deadline has reported that Marvel has officially cast newcomer Imon Vellani in the new Ms. Marvel Disney+ series! The show will be directed by Adil El Arbi, Bilall Fallah, Sharmeen Obaid-Chinoy, and Meera Menon when it premieres on the streaming service.

Ms. Marvel is about Kamala Khan, who is a Pakistani-American teen based in New Jersey. She was Marvel’s first Muslim character to have her own comic title back in 2014, and she will be the first onscreen Muslim hero for Marvel Studios. Along with the upcoming Disney+ series, Kamala Khan will also be making appearances in Marvel films according to Marvel Studios chief Kevin Feige.

Imon Vellani has worked to help diversify the film industry by teaming with the Next Wave Committee during the 2019 Toronto Film Festival. However, this will be her first major Hollywood production! As Disney releases more information about the upcoming series, we’ll give you all the details you need to know about Ms. Marvel!
