New Documentary Depicting Legendary Disney Lyricist Howard Ashman Coming Soon to Disney+!

Disney+ has released many documentaries on the streaming service and we’re about to see one more.

The success of The Imagineering Story is an indication that Disney fans love the stories behind their favorite theme parks and movies. We have more details on the new documentary detailing the life of famous Disney lyricist, Howard Ashman.

The announcement of the new documentary was made when Disney+ launched last November. Howard: The Howard Ashman story now has an official release date of August 7th.

Howard Ashman is known for writing lyrics to Disney classics like The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, and Aladdin. He was often paired with Composer Alan Menken for most of his work with Disney and the musical Little Shop of Horrors.

The new trailer depicts Howard’s professional career with behind-the-scenes footage of Ashman instructing legendary Actors like Jodi Benson (Ariel) and Paige O’Hara (Belle). It will also tell the story of his personal life outside of Disney. We’re looking forward to watching the new documentary in August.
