Disney has been exercising an abundance of caution in regard to the coronavirus that emerged in China earlier this year. Shanghai and Hong Kong Disneyland have been closed for over a month, and the Disney Cruise Line has imposed strict travel guidelines for guests passing through affected regions.

With fears of the virus coming to the tourist hub of Central Florida, Disney has imposed even more restrictions, requesting that several workers who recently returned from a trip to Italy remain home.
While none of the workers have shown any symptoms of infection, the coronavirus takes up to 14 days to incubate, during which time carriers can unknowingly infect others. As such, most precautionary measures require people who may have been potentially exposed to avoid contact for the full incubation period, and to report immediately if they begin showing any symptoms.

The virus has recently spread to Italy, leading to quarantines in the city of Codogno, just south of Milan. Several workers at Walt Disney World who recently visited the country were asked to remain home out of an “abundance of caution”.
