Why Fans Are Calling This Popular Disney World Hotel “Exhausting”

Disney World is known for its immersive, larger-than-life resort hotels that go far beyond a place to sleep, and guests view them as an extension of the magic from the parks.

Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge

From Value Resorts to Deluxe Villas, each offers unique theming, dining, and transportation options that can change your entire vacation experience. But while many guests rave about the theming and amenities, some hotels come with trade-offs that aren’t always obvious until you’ve stayed there.

One recent reader shared their experience at Kidani Village at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge, and their review perfectly captures both the positives and the challenges of staying at this fan-favorite resort. They noted that Kidani Village felt “a little less busy than the Jambo House,” which made navigating the resort easier with young kids. This is a definite win for families looking for a quieter atmosphere. In fact, they even recommend that Disney’s Animal Kingdom Lodge should be on every repeat visitor’s must-do list at least once.

But here’s where the “exhausting” label comes into play. According to the reader, “the spread out nature of the hotel was exhausting at times after a 15-hour day at MK.” After spending a full day at Magic Kingdom, the sheer size of Kidani Village can make the walk back to your room feel longer than expected, especially for families with little ones or anyone already worn out from the parks. Add in the fact that buses are the only Disney transportation option from the resort, and the distance from other parks becomes more noticeable compared to centrally located Disney hotels.

Still, the positives clearly left a lasting impression. The same reader described the resort as “amazing,” highlighting the staff, theming, pools, and one of its biggest draws, the animals. Unique to Animal Kingdom Lodge, guests at Kidani Village can watch giraffes, zebras, and other wildlife roam the savanna right outside their balcony. As the reader put it, “Have coffee while they feed the animals breakfast. Watch the animals at night while the kids fall asleep.” It’s an experience that truly sets this resort apart and creates unforgettable moments you simply won’t find anywhere else on Disney property.

For those unfamiliar, Kidani Village is the Disney Vacation Club building of Animal Kingdom Lodge, offering spacious villa-style accommodations ranging from studios to multi-bedroom units. It features its own pool area, Samawati Springs Pool, with one of the most incredible splash zones and one of the longest waterslides at Disney World. It also has the popular Sanaa restaurant known for its bread service and savanna views. While it shares amenities with Jambo House, Kidani Village is distinctly quieter and more laid-back, which can be a major perk depending on your travel style.

At the end of the day,  Kidani Village delivers a one-of-a-kind Disney experience that many guests feel is worth it, at least once. However, its size and location can make it feel tiring after you’ve already walked miles all day, especially if convenience is your top priority.
