REVIEW: We’re Tired of People Hating on This Vastly Improved Disney World Restaurant

Tony’s Town Square Restaurant is one of Disney World’s most divisive dining locations.

Is Tony’s Town Square worth it?

This restaurant in Magic Kingdom has had a slew of haters over the years, but since 2023, it has really been stepping up its game, food-wise. Recently, we went back to see if the improvements have been consistent. Come with us to try it out!

Background

Tony’s Town Square Restaurant is inspired by Lady and the Tramp, specifically, the spaghetti-sharing scene.

You’ll find nods to the iconic dogs around the restaurant, like these pawprints in the concrete out front…

Too cute!

…and the statue inside the restaurant. There is also artwork from the film on the walls.

We love the statue!

So what’s it like to dine here?

Atmosphere

Tony’s Town Square is located on Main Street, U.S.A. in Magic Kingdom, and it’s moderately popular. You enter the restaurant through the Town Square Theater.

Inside, you’ll find a small waiting area to sit in after you check in for your reservation.

The restaurant is divided into two main sections. The main dining room is big and feels very much like a traditional Italian restaurant — cozy, dark woods, and low lighting.

There’s also a sunroom that’s much brighter and has a nice view of the park. This is sometimes a fun spot to watch the parade from, if you can time your reservation right.

It’s much brighter in here!

Now, let’s dive into the food!

Food & Drinks

We’re starting the meal with two of their most popular appetizers. First is Tony’s Garlic Bread For The Table, which is made with Toasted Ciabatta with Roasted Garlic Butter and Parmesan Fonduta and costs $14.

Tony’s Garlic Bread For The Table

We’re BIG fans of this, because the bottom of each piece is crunchy like garlic toast, but the tops are extremely fluffy and airy. It’s a beautiful combination, and the Parmesan fondue on the side that you pour on top is just incredible.  We also love the amount of garlic in the dish, and that we could taste the oil and vinegar they use to season the bread as well.

Delicious!

We also grabbed the Fried Mozzarella for $16, which is served with Spicy Creamy Tomato Sauce.

Fried Mozzarella

The cheese pull on this one is WILD, so we recommend eating it fast while it’s still warm! If it gets too cool, it’ll turn into more of a mozzarella cheese stick texture, which isn’t ideal. The breading around the cheese was crispy, not necessarily crunchy, but we didn’t mind that. However, it’s important to note that the marinara sauce on the side is spicy, so you may want to stay away if you’re not a fan of spicy things, or ask your server for regular marinara instead.

The cheese pull is unmatched!

The Rigatoni alla Vodka for $26 was our entree of choice. It’s Rigatoni tossed in a Classic Tomato-Vodka Sauce topped with Citrus-Herb Breadcrumbs.

Rigatoni alla Vodka

This is a simple staple meal, so we think it’s a good crowd pleaser. We did decide to add chicken to ours, which was shockingly good, as it was lightly seasoned, more shredded, and very juicy with a pretty good consistency. The dish was on the softer side since the pasta wasn’t perfectly al dente, but we loved that the finely shaved Parmesan on top was also mixed with breadcrumbs, adding to a textural element. The pasta flavor overall was very well-rounded and not too tomato-forward, which is a great accomplishment in our eyes!

We enjoyed it!

And for dessert, we wrapped up with the Flourless Chocolate Cake for $9. It’s served with Pistachio Cream, Cherries, and Cocoa Nibs.

Flourless Chocolate Cake

This was incredibly rich (in a good way!) with a smooth, thick texture and a deep, dark chocolate flavor. It reminded us of the inside of a truffle, and it mixed perfectly with the pistachio cream and pistachio bits on top that added a beautiful crunchy texture. There were also sweet cherries on the side, and those pistachio and cherry flavors balanced well with the chocolate while still allowing it to be the main flavor. We definitely recommend sharing, especially after a full meal!

Super rich!
