A lot is going on in Disney World right now, and there is construction everywhere. Now, most of the construction is expected because Disney has made announcements about it.

However, sometimes Disney just quietly opens up something new, like a new snack stand we just spotted at Disney’s BoardWalk, without ever really telling anyone. Well, we’re not going to gatekeep this new snack stand, so we’re telling you about it.
Technically, the snack stand isn’t new, but it’s been closed for a while. It’s where you could once get funnel cakes on Disney’s BoardWalk. However, when we walked by the stand today, we noticed that this snack stand had something new. Note that this new stand doesn’t open until 4 PM.

There’s a brand new menu at this snack stand. And that menu seems intriguing, with offerings like churros and saltwater taffy popcorn, although you can also get Mickey pretzels and other snacks and drinks.

We were so intrigued that we decided to try both out. The Churros are served with chocolate sauce for $7.49. Now, Disney World churros can be hit or miss (with most being miss), so we had big hopes for these. However, they turned out to be the standard Disney World churros. They were pretty soft with lots of cinnamon sugar, but underneath, there was that bit of staleness we’ve come to be familiar with from a lot of other Disney World churros.

You can get the chocolate sauce warm or cold. We chose warm, and maybe that’s why it was pretty runny. So it looked and tasted a lot like Hershey’s chocolate syrup. So yes, we can say it’s a pretty basic sauce.
We also tried the Saltwater Taffy Popcorn for $7.49. First up, we didn’t expect pre-packaged popcorn. Now, this is Popcorn Junkie, which is a local brand that also makes the same popcorn you can get all throughout Disney World, including Kat Saka’s Kettle and Main Street Confectionery. So it tastes more like vanilla cake batter than saltwater taffy, but the bag does say it has cake batter flavor in it.

The pieces are a little stale, and they have a softness to them, so don’t expect that fresh popcorn crunch. The flavor is very sweet, and it leaves a sugary taste in your mouth afterward. It’s actually a lot like kettle corn, but with more sugar. Kids are probably going to love it.

Overall, we were a little letdown by the new snack stand, but if you’re looking for a quick snack and you’re at the BoardWalk, now you can get churros and popcorn. But it’s not somewhere you should go out of your way for.
