It has been a great morning of riding Haunted Mansion, Pirates of the Caribbean, and Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. But now stomachs are starting to rumble, and you need to decide where to eat in Magic Kingdom before anyone gets too hangry.

Here at AllEars, we know all the ins and outs of Disney restaurants — including where you should definitely eat, and where you should skip. We recently stopped by Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe at Magic Kingdom and are bringing you our FULL review!
Background
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe is located in Frontierland in Magic Kingdom. You can find it on the corner near the drop on Tiana’s Bayou Adventure. The restaurant is themed as an Old West saloon and serves up bowls, burgers, pork sandwiches, queso fries, and more. This quick-service spot has a large indoor seating area, perfect for enjoying your meal.

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.
Atmosphere
At Pecos Bill, you can either order at a register or place a Mobile Order on the My Disney Experience app. You will pick up your order from the counter and can choose your favorite table in the dining area. We love that this restaurant has a huge indoor dining area, but it can definitely get loud inside during busy meal times.

You will find condiment stations and silverware stations located throughout the restaurant, but unfortunately, we have not yet seen the return of the toppings bar. We are still hoping Disney might bring it back one day, but not yet. There is lots of indoor seating.

Or you can also head outside for even more seating options.

But enough about that, what are we eating?!
Food & Drinks
First up, we grabbed the Rice Bowl for $12.99. It is made with stewed pinto beans, cilantro-lime rice, roasted corn and black bean salsa, queso fresco, and pico de gallo. You can choose your protein for the bowl, and we opted for the chicken as the Cast Member said it was the most popular.

The portion size is excellent, and all of the ingredients tasted fresh. It is a hearty, somewhat healthy, and simple option that could be just what you are looking for at Disney.

We also got the Double Barbecue Bacon Cheeseburger for $16.19. It is two flame-broiled all-beef patties topped with American cheese, bacon, and Coca-Cola Cherry barbecue sauce. It is served with fries.

The cheese was nice and melted, and the bacon was crispy yet chewy. The barbecue sauce is sweet and is similar in flavor to a Ken’s barbecue sauce. The sauce isn’t super overpowering, but it adds a hint of sweetness to the burger. The meat patties were very thick and seemed thicker than other patties we have gotten at Disney World

We also got a side of Queso Fries for $6.99. These are french fries topped with chipotle queso and pico de gallo. The queso has a nice hint of seasoning, so it isn’t just plain melted cheese. We wouldn’t say it is spicy, but it does have a bit of chipotle flavor.

These are tasty and an excellent option for a snack while you are in the Magic Kingdom. It is hard to go wrong with fries covered in gooey cheese!

For dessert, we got the Sweet Corn Mousse for $6.29. It is white chocolate and raspberry powder. This dessert had the consistency of a really thick pudding. It tastes like a sweet corn bisque in pudding form.

To drink, we got the Strawberry Limeade Slush for $6.59. This drink tastes just like pink lemonade, with a hint of lime. However, the most prominent flavor is definitely that of pink lemonade.

Magic or Tragic?
This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…
- You want to dine somewhere with consistently good eats and lots of seating. We have almost always had tasty food here, and we love the ample seating.
- You are looking for a quick bite during your Magic Kingdom day. This is an excellent option for a fast and easy meal. You can walk up, order, and enjoy!
- You want options beyond the traditional chicken tenders and burgers (although you can still get a burger here!) We really enjoy the rice bowls, nachos, and queso that you can grab here.
You should skip this Disney World spot if…
- You want a restaurant with unique and memorable food. We think Pecos Bill has some tasty options, but it isn’t anything super unique. If you are looking for more distinctive options, we might suggest Skipper Canteen.
- You want to meet characters while you are dining. You won’t spot any characters while you are eating at Pecos. If you want to see characters, try Crystal Palace or Cinderella’s Royal Table.
- You want a sit-down restaurant. At Pecos, you will order at the register or on the app and then take your food to your table. For table service, you can head to Plaza Restaurant, Be Our Guest, or Liberty Tree Tavern.

Pecos Bill has stepped it up thankfully. Seems like it’s getting back to its ore COVID heyday. But no toppings bar is ridiculous.
Wasn’t there a toppings bar in Casey’s Corner as well?
