What would YOU add to Disney World?

While Disney World has several expansion plans in the works already, not every fan is going to love these changes. That’s why we asked YOU — AllEars readers and Disney fanatics — which expansions you would love to see get made. It’s safe to say y’all had PLENTY of ideas!
Over on Facebook, we asked our readers, “If Disney handed you the blueprints and said, “Okay, what land are we building next?”, what would you dream up? if you could add ONE new land or theme to a Disney World park, what would it be?” The Imagineers-at-heart were very creative in their responses!
Some of our readers have clearly been thinking about this for a long while. Reader George wrote, “A Foresty area with rides that would include a Robin Hood Dark Ride, a Tarzan roller coaster, a Bambi themed Dumbo ride, and a Jungle Book musical show. And a large wood cabin for air conditioned dining and meet & greets with rotating characters from the aforementioned rides and Fox & the Hound. Yes, I think about this way too much. LOL”
We love how much thought was put into this! A Jungle Book musical show, especially, would be epic!

Reader Christina clearly has a soft spot for Toontown, writing, “I would retheme Frontierland into a Mickey and friends land and have more rides dedicated to Mickey and the gang, a big play area that looks like the Mickey Mouse clubhouse and incorporate other characters like Chip and Dale into that area.“
This reminds us a little of Mickey’s Toontown Fair with the Mickey Mouse Clubhouse idea — not too dissimilar to what still exists over at Disneyland!

Reader Grant is a fan of the classic Disney film Fantasia and its sequel, and came up with a pretty detailed idea for a new land:
“I know it isn’t a lucrative enough property for them, but a Fantasialand is what I would do. The only problem is that Fantasia has so many different themes that it might make the land feel un-themed. But as a huge Fantasia fan, the theme works.
An epic dinosaur dark ride. a teacup ride but instead of teacups it’s mushrooms in a trippy forest setting. I’ve thought up a carousel that has so many of the animals from Fantasia (like the ballerina ostrich, hippo, crocodile, etc) and the lighting underneath changes to from happy and bright to scary and dark while the central pedastal also changes to sort of tell the story of the day goddess being enveloped by the night goddess and chernabog unleashing the denizens of Hell, and then ending with light again and the ave maria scene. A roller coaster themed to pegasus flying around. Maybe a trackless dark ride taking people through the hectic blue New York City from rhapsody in blue scene in Fantasia 2000. There is just so much that can be done, and that’s just rides.”
We LOVE this idea and think a trackless dark ride sounds like it would be so much fun! Just imagine all of the food you could serve in this land!

Reader Greg wants to keep it simple, writing, “Just open a 5th gate focused on Disney animation thru the years with one area that is malleable for future projects.“
We really I really like the concept of going through the years of Disney animation. Pop Century vibes but all Disney animation!

Reader Kellyann is a fan of the Inside Out franchise and suggested, “I love the idea of doing a whole Inside Out themed place. The old wonders of life pavilion would be the perfect spot.”
Kellyann suggested including a “play area with colors…for the different emotions”, as well as a learning area about how emotions affect the body. A character meet-and-greet spot, a memory area with bubbles you can write on, and a family-friendly ride were also suggested! “Lots of colors and stuff you can touch and feel.”

Reader Charles commented that, “Zootopia should get a whole land not just a show.”
The new Zootopia: Better Zoogether! is playing in Disney’s Animal Kingdom, but the IP is so beloved that it deserves a full land. In fact, one already exists at Shanghai Disneyland!

Ready Tobi is inspired by the classics, writing, “I would do a Mary Poppins area.”
We’d love to spend the day having a Jolly Holiday in a land dedicated to The Perfect Nanny!

Reader Josh said what a lot of us are thinking, writing, “A dinosaur themed land…..I’m not bitter.”
R.I.P. DinoLand, U.S.A.

Reader Shawn suggested, “A Hercules land would be cool.”
We totally agree! Something like a boat ride in the underworld, where you see Hades and all the souls, would be awesome!

Reader Curtis suggested getting his own land in American Adventure at EPCOT, writing, “Just a medium-sized private house where I can sleep at night, and prepare for my days in the parks.”
We don’t know how practical that is, but we’re totally down as long as we’re allowed to crash there on occasion!

Other suggestions included lands based on The Nightmare Before Christmas, Pixie Hollow, The Incredibles, The Muppets, The Lion King, and all kinds of ideas!
