The holidays are in full swing at Disney World, and you know what that means…

…Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party is finally back and welcoming partygoers once again! This separately ticketed event is one of our favorites around Disney World, and we’ve got the perfect strategy you need to be able to do everything in one night!
Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party at Magic Kingdom hosts nearly two dozen nights of yuletide cheer in November and December, and if you’re heading to the party this year, we’re sharing our ultimate strategy you need to see and do everything in one night!
Have a Plan
The good news is that you’re already working on your plan — you’re reading this article, after all, aren’t you? What you absolutely don’t want to do is go to Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party without having any semblance of an idea about what you want to do. Is food your priority? What about shows like fireworks and parades? Do you want to see a ton of characters?

It’s totally possible to see and do it all in one night, but you’ll want to make sure that you have a general idea of how you’re going to go about that. Party time is limited, which means having a game plan of where to be when can make all the difference. We suggest prioritizing based on what your absolute must-dos are, and then figuring out the rest from there.
Get There EARLY
Though the event starts at 7 PM, those with tickets for the event are invited to enter Magic Kingdom starting at 4 PM — which is a whopping THREE extra hours in the park that you’ll want to take advantage of. While not all party offerings start early, you can typically do things like shop for exclusive Very Merry merchandise and get in line for popular character meet and greets like Jack Skellington and Sally.

Things might seem a little chaotic at first while regular day guests are still allowed in the park, but the crowds will eventually dissipate as they leave. By getting to the party early, you’ll be able to knock out some of your must-dos before other partygoers even arrive!
Stagger Showtimes
There are multiple different shows and entertainment offerings at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party, and a few of them happen more than once per night, which means you can choose which time is best for your plans. A Frozen Holiday Surprise is offered once before the party officially starts, and once after. Getting it out of the way early means you don’t have to waste precious party time!

Mickey’s Most Merriest Celebration stage show happens several times per night, so you’ll have the opportunity to catch that one more than once.

Mickey’s Once Upon A Christmastime Parade takes place at 8:30 PM and 11 PM, so you can decide which show fits into your plans as well.

However, Minnie’s Wonderful Christmastime Fireworks Show only happens once per party night, at 10 PM, so you’ll want to make sure you catch this showtime if you’re interested in watching the fireworks!

We recommend mapping out the shows you want to catch first and when, and then doing everything else in between!
Eat Before You Go
We know this sounds counterintuitive, especially if you plan on prioritizing food at the party, but a lot of these foods can be just snacks, and pausing to eat a full meal can take up precious time that you don’t necessarily have. We definitely don’t recommend making table service reservations during the party, even at the restaurants with special menus. It just takes up too much time! But, if that’s something you’d rather prioritize — more power to ya.

Instead, we recommend eating a light meal before the party starts so that you’re not too full to try all the exclusive eats and treats, but still full enough that you don’t feel the need to pause for a full meal when there are so many more exciting things you could be doing!
Be FLEXIBLE!
This is the number one piece of advice we give to people going to Disney World on any given day, but it’s especially true for Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party! Even at the Most Magical Place on Earth, there can still be hiccups and things can still go wrong.

Maybe the character you were hoping to meet isn’t around, or the parade kicks off a bit late due to weather or something else. These things happen, so it’s important to temper your expectations and not set yourself up for disappointment!

You can still have a blast at the party even if something goes wrong as long as you don’t let it ruin your whole night. This is important to stress to kiddos, too! Ultimately, though, if you follow most of these tips, you’ll have a great time at Mickey’s Very Merry Christmas Party and will make memories for years to come.

We’ll be on the lookout for more updates you need to know about from Disney World and beyond. In the meantime, make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news and more!
