Less than a year after opening to the public, Universal’s Epic Universe may already be laying the groundwork for further expansion!

Since opening in May 2025, Epic Universe has regularly seen intense crowds and high wait times for its attractions, showing there’s a definite demand for Universal’s newest park. And now, we spotted a new permit filing hinting that Universal may have plans to expand the new park!
On November 7th, 2025, a permit was filed for 1001 Epic Blvd, Orlando, Florida 32819, which is the address of Epic Universe. The permit is for site utilities and foundation work for new construction, identified as a 150,000 square foot building.

There are no further details on what specifically the building will be used for, but its large size indicates that it’s likely more substantial than routine back-of-house work.

There have already been rumors of a potential Epic Universe expansion, with speculation pointing to open areas that could be utilized. In particular, some have pointed out a space between Super Nintendo World and Dark Universe that could be developed for a future guest-facing land.

There’s no official word on whether Epic Universe is working on future expansion projects or what they may entail. But fans have speculated everything from new additions to existing portals, to brand-new portals that pull on other Universal properties like Jaws or Back to the Future.

Of course, this new permit doesn’t mean that something as major as a new portal or E-ticket attraction is already in the works. However, it DOES show that a massive new building is already being built, so those speculating that there was more in store for Epic Universe may have been on to something!
We’ll continue to be on the lookout for more news about the new construction, so stay tuned to AllEars for the latest details!

No more Wizarding World! And I say that as a devoted Potterhead. Universal has no one to blame but themselves for “MOM” (terrible name for a land) being underwhelming. They should’ve fully committed to the Fantastic Beasts theme.
