REVIEW: There’s a Reason This Italy Pavilion Restaurant Is One of the Hardest Reservations to Book in EPCOT

There’s something about dining inside Via Napoli that feels instantly alive. Maybe it’s the laughter echoing through the dining room, or the sight of chefs tossing pizza dough high above the counter, but one thing’s for certain: this is no ordinary Disney World restaurant.

Via Napoli

Here at AllEars, we know all the ins and outs of Disney restaurants — including where you should definitely eat, and where you should skip. We recently stopped by Via Napoli Ristorante e Pizzeria at EPCOT and are bringing you our FULL review!

Background

If you’re craving real Italian pizza inside EPCOT, Via Napoli is the place to go. This upbeat, family-friendly spot serves wood-fired pizzas made with ingredients straight from Italy, including imported flour and special water that mimics what’s used in Naples. The result? Perfectly crisp, chewy pizza that tastes like a slice of Italy. You’ll also find fresh salads, hearty sandwiches, and plenty of Italian charm in every corner.

Pizza ovens

Here’s what you need to know about dining at this restaurant.

Atmosphere

One step inside Via Napoli, and the energy will immediately hit you. The restaurant hums with activity. We’ve spotted chefs spinning dough high into the air, sliding pizzas into blazing wood-fired ovens, and calling out orders in a rhythm that feels almost like you’ve stepped into a musical. The open kitchen puts its craft on full display, turning meal prep into a performance that’s as entertaining as it is appetizing. You can’t help but watch in awe as the raw ingredients transform into perfectly blistered Neapolitan pizzas right before your eyes.

Entrance

The decor here only adds to the lively atmosphere. Bright, hand-painted tiles line the walls and counters, complementing the rustic wooden tables and chairs scattered throughout the space. Large windows let in natural light during the day, while the warm glow of hanging lights and ovens makes evenings feel cozy and inviting. Even the clatter of dishes, the murmur of conversations, and the occasional burst of laughter contribute to a soundtrack that’s authentically Italian and irresistibly welcoming.

Dining room

It’s a place that invites families, groups of friends, and Disney-goers of all ages to gather, linger, and savor the experience together. The buzz of conversation mixes with the aroma of fresh-baked pizza, creating an atmosphere that’s bustling yet intimate simultaneously. Every corner of Via Napoli seems designed to keep you engaged, from the impressive ovens to the carefully curated decor, making it a dining experience that’s as much about the energy and excitement as it is about the food.

But enough about that, what are we eating?!

Food & Drinks

To begin, we picked up the Limoncello Mule for $19. This is made of Grey Goose L’Orange vodka, limoncello, peach purée, orange juice, pineapple juice, lime juice, and ginger beer.

Limoncello Float

Admittedly, this wasn’t originally on our list to try, but after an Italian Cast Member in the pavilion raved about it — and mentioned it’s considered one of Via Napoli’s signature drinks — we decided to give it a shot. And we’re glad we did, because this one genuinely surprised us!

Pleasantly surprised by this one

Most mules tend to taste pretty similar, ginger-forward, and easy enough to make at home. But this cocktail was a total exception! It’s less of a traditional mule and more of a fruit-forward cocktail, blending peach puree, orange, pineapple, and lime with a splash of ginger beer. The result was refreshingly balanced, bright, and tropical without tipping into overly sweet territory. The ginger added just enough warmth to tie everything together without overpowering the other flavors.

Even if you’re not typically into sweet or gingery drinks, I’d still recommend this one. It’s light, flavorful, and the perfect sip for a warm Florida day. After trying it, we completely understand why it comes so highly recommended.

We also grabbed the Strawberry Housemade Agua Fresca for $8.50.

Strawberry Housemade Agua Fresca

This drink was refreshingly simple and delicious. It’s essentially a strawberry puree mixed with water, and it doesn’t taste sweetened or syrupy at all — just pure, natural strawberry flavor. It isn’t overly filling, doesn’t overpower your meal, and hits that perfect balance of fruity and refreshing. It’s exactly the kind of light, flavorful beverage that feels thoughtful and well-made, and we loved every sip of it!

To eat, we first grabbed the Homemade Focaccia for $8.50. This is served with sides of marinara and Italian extra virgin olive oil and herbs.

Homemade Focacci

The homemade focaccia was incredible! It was soft and bouncy on the inside with a perfectly golden, slightly crisp crust on top. It came with a small dish of fragrant olive oil for dipping, which immediately caught our attention.

Olive oil and sauce

At first, we thought the olive oil had herbs mixed in, but then we realized that the rosemary we were smelling (and tasting) was baked directly into the bread itself. That little twist made us love it even more!

With the sauce and oil

It’s subtle, flavorful, and shows some thought went into such a simple dish. The olive oil was still wonderful on its own, intensely aromatic, and made for a perfect accompaniment. Honestly, this is one of our favorite bread services and a standout start to any meal here.

We also ordered the Arancini for $15. This is made of fried risotto balls, fontina cheese, and meat ragù.

Arancini

We really set the tone by starting with this dish. They were good — solidly made and nicely fried with that crisp, golden breadcrumb coating. Inside, it was mostly rice, which had a texture and flavor that honestly reminded us a bit of Chicken Rice-A-Roni (and we mean that in the best way.) The filling seemed to have some sausage and cheese, but there just wasn’t quite enough of it to balance out all the rice. Flavor-wise, it leaned mild — more comforting than bold.

Inside look

That said, this is pretty typical of traditional arancini, so we wouldn’t necessarily call it a miss. It’s just worth noting for anyone with their heart set on something super cheesy or packed with filling, it’s not that kind of dish. Still, as a light starter and a little taste of Italy, it definitely held its own!

For our main entrees, we decided on the Tortellini for $29. It’s made of stuffed pasta, sautéed pancetta, sweet peas, and Parmesan cheese cream sauce.

Tortellini

The tortellini was an easy standout and one we’d recommend to just about anyone. It’s the kind of dish that feels both comforting and a little indulgent — something that could easily earn a “must-try” spot on any Disney World dining list. The pasta itself was al dente, filled with rich cheese, and coated in a creamy Parmesan sauce that leaned more toward cozy than fancy.

All the cheese

Despite its elevated presentation, the dish had all the appeal of a really good mac and cheese (you know the kind that’s creamy, cheesy, and deeply satisfying.) The Parmesan sauce had a nice sharpness that balanced the richness, which we appreciated since we’re not usually drawn to heavy dishes. The sautéed pancetta added a salty, smoky flavor that infused the sauce beautifully, even in bites without any visible pieces. The peas were a thoughtful touch that added a bright pop of color and a hint of sweetness that lightened everything up.

Hefty portion

It’s a classic Italian flavor combination done right, and while it feels a little grown-up, it still carries that comforting, familiar feel that makes you want to go back for another bite.

Of course, we HAD to try some brick oven pizza here, so we also ordered the Carciofi Pizza for $25 for an individual size. It’s a white pizza made of artichoke, fontina, mozzarella, and truffle oil.

Carciofi Pizza

The pizza had a simple combination, but a really well-executed one. As a traditional white pizza, instead of a tomato sauce in between the bread and toppings, this pie relied on olive oil and garlic as the base. That kept the focus on the toppings, especially the artichokes, which brought a mild nuttiness and a great texture to each bite.

Up close

The cheese was generous and melty, blending beautifully with the crust. And speaking of the crust — it was excellent! Lightly blistered, chewy, and full of that authentic wood-fired flavor that Via Napoli is known for.

Just a slice

It’s worth noting that this pizza leans more toward traditional Italian style than American chain-style white pizzas, which often use Alfredo sauce. Here, the flavors are more subtle and rustic. It’s not the kind of pizza loaded with heavy sauce or toppings, but if you appreciate a well-made crust and clean, simple flavors, this one definitely delivers.

And we were tempted to see how well the Vegan Margherita Pizza tasted here, as well, and grabbed one for $23. As a quick disclaimer, we’re not true fans of vegan cheese. That said, we wanted to give this off-menu option a try since our server immediately mentioned it when I said we told them someone in our dining party was vegan. Unfortunately, we found that this particular pie was not the case. The texture was somewhere between cream cheese and glue, if we’re being completely honest. If the chewier texture is something you enjoy, then you might find this vegan pizza quite lovely, but it was a total miss for our taste.

Vegan Pizza

But what really stood out to us most about this pizza was the crust. It was absolutely magical, the kind of pizza crust that dreams are made of. In the end, we scraped off the vegan cheese and enjoyed it with just the sauce. If you’re a fan of the typical vegan cheeses like Follow Your Heart or Daiya, this might work for you, but if you’re like our crew’s taste and prefer a more traditional, less gooey approach, we’d recommend skipping the cheese entirely and just enjoying the crust with toppings or sauce.

That said, we want to note that our server mentioned modifications are possible upon request to some pizza pies, such as a vegetable-only pizza without cheese, which, in hindsight, might have served our tastes better.  The crust alone is reason enough to order it, and Via Napoli clearly has the ability to make exceptional pizza — just maybe not with their selection of vegan cheese.

Magic or Tragic?

This Disney World restaurant is a must-visit if…

  • You’re looking for great brick-oven style pizza! This isn’t your usual pillow pizza from places like Pizzafari. No, this is the real stuff!
  • You’re looking for a decent Italian meal that can satisfy multiple appetites.
  • You’re looking for a lively, upbeat dining experience with Cast Members who are proud to share their country’s cuisine and culture with you.

You should skip this Disney World spot if…

  • You’re looking for exceptional Italian food. While the food here was good, we’re not sure it ranks high enough on our list of eats to top a few outstanding Italian menus we’d consider more flavorful.
  • You didn’t come to Disney World just to have Italian-style pizza. Sure, there’s a whole menu made available to you of dishes, but let’s face it, the real curb appeal to this restaurant is its notable pizzas.
  • You’re looking for a more upscale, intimate dining room setting to enjoy a quiet dinner. This is a lively, bustling restaurant for sure! If you’re looking for a more low-key setting, there are several other options we’d suggest you spring for instead.

While we enjoyed our meal here immensely and see its value and several dishes where it shines, we’re not convinced enough of its charms to claim it’s superior to some of the other Italian dishes and restaurants we’ve had elsewhere around Disney World. We could have equally enjoyed a fine Italian meal at places like Il Mulino New York Trattoria for a more intimate and relaxed setting. This proves that there are diverse options in similar types of cuisines all over Disney World for all types of occasions that might be driving your reason to visit.

In the meantime, we’ll be on the lookout for more restaurant updates from Disney World and beyond. Make sure you stay tuned to AllEars for the latest Disney news and more!

  1. Good review and glad you mentioned that the food (except for the pizza) is just basic. Patina operates Naples out here at Disneyland’s Downtown Disney and it is the same basic menu – pizza is very good, the rest is forgettable.
The sad thing is, and as many know this location use to be a standout when it was operated by the Alfredo family (yes, as in Fettuccini Alfredo!). The food was exceptional back then.

  2. That first drink looks more like the Limoncello Mule rather than a float – I think you might have a typo in the article.

    1. Thanks, Dan! We did indeed have a typo, but we have gone in and fixed it. We appreciate you letting us know.
