Shanghai Disneyland Announces CHANGES Coming to an Iconic Ride

Another Disney park is expanding!

Soarin’ fans will soon have another reason to plan a trip to visit one of Disney’s international parks. While we have versions already within the U.S. that exist for the popular ride, Disney’s looking to expand the ride and update the destinations you’ll see while experiencing it all!

Shanghai Disneyland has just announced plans for the expansion of a popular attraction! In a post on social media, Shanghai Disney Resort specifically mentioned an increase in the current capacity of Soaring Over The Horizon. In fact, the plans are to increase the ride’s capacity by fifty percent from the current to offer more people the chance to soar at the same time.

Additionally, Shanghai Disneyland teased that a special new ending is coming, too! In the same announcement, Shanghai noted that a “magical destination” with other magical surprises will be joining the ride.

Soaring Over The Horizon is a ride similar to versions of Soarin’ found in several other Disney parks, including Disney World and Disneyland in California. During the ride, you’re lifted up into the air on seats that give you the feeling that you’re flying among the clouds as various scenes play out before you, like destinations found on Adventures By Disney trips or various scenic spots around California. Shanghai’s version includes scenes from around the World, ranging from Adventure Isle to over Earth’s iconic landmarks, cities, and natural attractions.

While this is an exciting announcement by far, there’s not much more that Shanghai was able to share about the new plans for the ride at this time. We’re certain we’ll see more announcements to come in the future as the project progresses, and when we do, you’ll be the first to know about it!
