Why Every Disney Adult Is Marking August 29th on Their Calendars

There are busy times to visit Disney World, and there are BUSY times to visit Disney World. Here at AllEars, we keep track of everything happening so you can know when you might expect huge cheerleading groups or if there’s a holiday you might have forgotten about (been there!).

Crowds on crowds

Disney also hosts its own events and celebrations that you’ll want to know about before heading to the parks. I’ve had August 29th circled on my calendar for months now, and with that date almost upon us, let’s chat about everything coming.

On August 29th, Destination D23 is starting. This event attracts a large number of Disney fans from around the country and the world to participate in a massive expo featuring various seminars and merchandise.

Horizons: Disney Experiences Showcase (2024)

D23 is typically when Disney announces major news about movies, cruises, parks, and other aspects of the company’s operations. Destination D23 is usually smaller compared to D23, which takes place in California, but that doesn’t stop fans from flooding the expo, parks, and hotels.

A huge day for announcements

A brand-new restaurant is also opening on August 29th! Magic Kingdom is welcoming The Beak and Barrel to its lineup. This pirate-themed tavern is full of drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, and foods to try.

While reservations are currently full, we recommend keeping an eye out for more to become available, especially in the first few weeks.

We are loving the details!

Let’s not forget about something major coming to EPCOT — the EPCOT International Food & Wine Festival! It starts on August 28th, but EPCOT festivals are almost always busier on weekends, as locals love to come in and check out the food booths.

Food and Wine is almost here

Food & Wine is also the most popular of the festivals, so don’t be surprised to see larger crowds on weekends and evenings until it concludes on November 22nd.

We’re already planning our dishes

In other theme park news, it’s also the start of Halloween Horror Nights at Universal Orlando. Yep, that also starts on August 29th.

We’ll be ready to enter the fog and walk through the ten different houses while dining on incredible food. We’ll be sharing all of the details here with you!

  1. We have been to Disney 55 times.we were there last Sept and this past July we are 75 years old now as a. Bucket list we are wanting to get our kids grands and greats together to see Disney. With the children in laws and other family in-laws we will have around 28 or so to be there at one time. I am so excited can’t wait till Jan 2027 to get here got alot of planning to do this is one happy momma and Mammaw we love Disney

  2. I don’t like alcohol drinks since I have seen the negative side effects of people getting drunk and tipsy. I much prefer non alcoholic drinks as I drink soda, vitamin water, I’m am disappointed in my brother drinking beer in Utah as I now get nervous having him drive and speeding. I would like to see Disneyland and Disney world and Disney company to ban alcohol drinks in their films and discourage people drinking alcohol since it ruins families lives and fun at Disney parks just like they banned tobacco and smoking. Alcohol drinks are against my religion and moral lifestyle although I do indulge in junk food and I’m overweight since I have depression issues as I’m an autistic Disney adult.
