REVIEW: We Tried a Neck Cooling Tube in Disney World, and We Have Thoughts

If you’re planning a trip to Disney World anytime, you NEED to know about this theme park essential!

As anyone who has ever been to Orlando knows, the Central Florida area can get very, very hot. We’ve looked at various cooling devices before, but this one might be a game changer.

We recently tried out this Neck CoolingTube.

Using “innovative liquid plant Phase Change Material”, these coolers freeze faster and last longer than water. The outer layer is “wrapped in Thermoplastic polyurethanes, so there is no need to worry about frostbite on the skin. The integrated molding does not require stitching, so there is no need to worry about damage or leakage. The filled liquid material has passed SGS safety testing and can be worn with confidence.”

What did we think? For starters, we would say this is worth the money. It’s only about $15, and it works as well as a neck fan or cooling towel.

It’s not massive, so it’s easy to wear, doesn’t produce condensation so our shirt stayed nice and dry. It cools us better than a neck fan does or a cooling towel, and we would probably recommend this, especially if you’re going in the summer. It works really well, and it’s fairly small and easy to travel with.

However, the cooling tube wasn’t perfect. We noticed that after putting it in ice water, it only held its cool for about 40 minutes. We’d be curious to know if it would stay cooler longer if you put it in the fridge or freezer ahead of time. Otherwise, getting a cup of ice to dunk it in repeatedly could be kind of annoying.
