“Don’t Waste Your Money” This Is the WORST Hollywood Studios Restaurant Review We’ve Ever Seen

Over the years, we’ve heard our fair share of strong opinions about Disney World restaurants.

Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Whether it’s quick service, signature dining, a character meal, or a buffet, people tend to have pretty strong opinions about where to spend your money on food in Disney World. And when it comes to Hollywood Studios, there are some very HATED restaurants.

We went through several reviews on our website to find the Hollywood Studios restaurants our fans hated the most. Let’s see what the survey says! (And if you have a strong opinion about a dining location, make sure to leave your own review.)

Roundup Rodeo BBQ

One of Hollywood Studios’ most hated restaurants is also one of its newest. Roundup Rodeo BBQ opened up in 2023 in Toy Story Land as the land’s only table service spot. It carries on the Toy Story theming with “handmade” decorations, oversized toys, and artwork on the walls that looks as though it was drawn on with crayon. But despite the incredible theming, many AllEars readers have been disappointed with the experience.

One person gave it a 2/10, saying, “Don’t waste your money. Since opening day they have decreased their menu sides but they didn’t decrease the price. You are paying character dining prices without a character interaction, Disney needs to make some adjustments either to the price or the experience.”

Another one shared their opinion, posting, “The atmosphere is really cool. What we didn’t like was the prix fixe meal. It is WAY too high not to have characters at this meal. There are not many choices for the food. The servers seemed rushed. I wish this was a quick service meal, more like Regal Eagle at EPCOT.”

The theming is incredible!

Even those who gave it higher ratings had some negative comments, including one that said: “Roundup Rodeo suffers from the same issue as Coral Reef. It’s all about the theme and disappoints with its offerings.”

Saucy!

So if you’re a huge Toy Story fan and you’re hoping to go for the theming, this might be right up your alley. Otherwise, maybe skip this one in favor of a more affordable option.

Oga’s Cantina

Another newer restaurant in Hollywood Studios that get’s mixed reviews is Oga’s Cantina. This Star Wars-themed bar is located inside Galaxy’s Edge and it’s notoriously difficult to get a reservation for, but it can also be a complicated and awkward experience overall thanks to table-sharing and time limits once you’re inside.

Oga’s Cantina

One AllEars reviewer started by saying “this was an absolutely terrible experience” and went on to note that, “We had a 6:15 reservation, checked in 20 minutes early, and were seated FORTY FIVE minutes later when told that we’d have a table in less than 20. Such wasted time we could have spent riding rides or exploring the park. Also, note that if you’re seated at a table, they’ll sit you with strangers if you don’t have TEN people in your group. Makes for awkward conversation.”

Another person complained about the lack of actual food options at Oga’s, saying, “Popped up as a dining option. It is NOT! Our party of 11 had 6 children, and we were expecting dinner. After going through coordinating reservations for our party, we had to get right up and leave. Very misleading advertising. Waiter said it happens all the time. Shame on Disney for this one!”

So if you’re heading to Oga’s Cantina, keep in mind that the experience is not like that of a traditional dining location.

Hollywood & Vine

Over at Hollywood & Vine, you’ll find two different character meals. At breakfast, you can dine with Disney Junior characters, but for lunch and dinner, you get to see Minnie & friends. And it’s that afternoon/evening meal that seems to be the “worse” one of the two.

Minnie’s Springtime Dine

One person called the food awful, saying, ” I didn’t expect it to be great or even good, but I thought it would be okay. Not a high bar to set. Prison food is probably better!”

Hey, Pluto!

Another person shared their experience, saying, “We had high expectations at over $50 per person and were very disappointed. Our server was great but the food was horrible. The prime rib was so chewy and had the taste of a hot dog. They were out of turkey and the replacement chicken dish had a weird taste. The only appetizer was choice of two salads and there are much better deserts at quick service locations. Can not recommend and would not go back.”

Minnie in her Springtime outfit!

So, based on the consensus from our readers, it seems that you may want to choose a different character meal for Minnie, Mickey, and friends if you’re concerned about your culinary experience. Some of our favorites include Garden Grill at EPCOT, Tusker House in Animal Kingdom, or Topolino’s Terrace at the Riviera.

Hollywood and Vine Restaurant

Rating: 7.25 / 10 Recommended By: 73%
Menus: Breakfast, Lunch/Dinner
Services: Buffet/All You Care to Eat

Even though some of these ratings were rough, don’t let them deter you from trying these restaurants if you’re interested. One thing we’ve learned about Disney World food over the years is that it changes constantly. A restaurant can be having a bad day, month, or year, and then one menu or staffing change can suddenly fix it.
