NEW Details Revealed for Disney's 'Zootopia 2' Movie!

Zootopia 2 is on the way, landing in theaters on November 26th, and the trailer for it dropped online back in May. We don’t know about you, but we are READY to see Nick and Judy reunite on the big screen.

Recently, the director of the film, Jared Bush, shared some insider information about the upcoming movie that you’ll want to hear if you’re as excited about this sequel as we are!

Jared Bush sat down with Variety to answer a few questions about the upcoming film and explain how he feels it will appeal to all audiences. In response to being asked how he ensures his films represent people of all cultures, he said, “We’re always looking to tell stories that are immersive, and the best way to do that is with help. Collaboration is real, it’s not lip service.”

He then went into detail talking about Disney’s new animation system, Presto, and how it’s changed the game when creating the second film. He also commented on how sequels are tricky because “Audiences want familiarity but also expect growth.” Then came our first big tip about the new film! OK, remember that snake in the Zootopia 2 logo? Well, it seems like that character will play a BIG part in the sequel. The director told Variety, “In Zootopia, we’re also introducing reptiles,” adding, “They move and behave differently than mammals. Telling their story required a different approach.” Hmm…what kinds of different behaviors can we expect? Is this snake a friend or foe?

Bush also went on to say that in order to keep their eyes fresh on the material they’re working on, they have a great partnership with Pixar where they screen each other’s films and offer feedback, as well as do audience previews to gauge their reaction.
