It’s an exciting time to be a Disney and Pixar movie fan because they’ve teased LOTS of new projects we’ll be seeing soon!

With so many big projects coming out in theaters and on digital streaming platforms, there’s a lot to keep up with right now. Disney and Pixar have been a powerhouse when it comes to unique animation and films with heartfelt storylines, and now we’re getting a look at a few NEW upcoming projects.
While Disney and Pixar previously announced a few upcoming projects, we haven’t had much of an update on some of those since they were initially announced. Now, it seems that Disney Pixar is FINALLY pulling back the curtain a bit and giving us an inside look at a few projects.

The Hollywood Reporter notes that Disney has chosen a director for the next Incredibles film. Peter Sohn is set to direct the upcoming Incredibles 3, and the film’s screenwriter and creator of the Incredibles characters, Brad Bird, is stepping back from the director’s chair to focus on continuing the screenplay.

Bird (along with Soul’s Dana Murray) achieved a new height of success when the critically and commercially successful animated series of The Incredibles and The Incredibles 2 raked in $1.8 billion at the box office combined. So if you’re wondering why Peter Sohn’s name sounds familiar to Disney animation, it’s because he’s been associated with some major Disney animated films. Most recently, his accomplished works include Elemental and The Good Dinosaur, and he has worked with Bird across both previous Incredibles films. He’s also a Pixar animated film voice veteran, lending his vocal talents to movies such as Ratatouille, Monsters University, and Lightyear.

While not much is known about the plot for the upcoming Incredibles 3 film yet, we’re sure it’s in good hands with directors and screenplay writers who have been involved with the superheroes’ storylines from the very beginning.
Disney also gave us a new look at what’s to come in Toy Story 5!

Variety reports that during Disney Pixar’s CCO Peter Docter’s induction into the Annecy’s Walk of Fame, he brought along a sneak peek of one of Pixar’s most anticipated upcoming films. Toy Story 5 is slated for a summer 2026 release.

Docter has described the Toy Story 5 storyline to be one where “Toys Meet Tech,” as the film follows a now eight-year-old Bonnie discovering her new toy tablet. Here’s a sneak peek at some NEW concept art for the film.

Docter also confirmed the return of Tom Hanks as Woody and Joan Cusack as Jessie, along with a host of new characters yet to be introduced. The studio is also celebrating the 30th birthday of the fan-favorite franchise this year. Toy Story’s 1995 release made history as the first feature-length computer-animated film ever released. The Toy Story franchise has since received 18 Academy Award nominations, won 3 Academy Awards and a Special Achievement Award, taken home best animated feature for both Toy Story 3 and Toy Story 4, as well as won best original song for “We Belong Together.”

A few other announcements were made by Disney Pixar at Annecy, too! Docter also gave an exclusive look at another upcoming film. Hoppers tells the story of Mabel (voiced by Piper Curda), who wants to protect her favorite local pond from a highway construction project. She justifies stealing the “Hoppers” technology, which places her consciousness into a robotic beaver and allows her to uncover mysteries within the animal world beyond her imagination.

This animated movie is set to bring a refreshing humor to this modern ecological adventure. Hoppers will feature notable voice talents such as Jon Hamm and “Saturday Night Live” actor and writer Bobby Moynihan.
Release Date Announced for Pixar’s Newest Movie
There’s MORE! A new film titled Gatto is also expected to be released in June 2027 by Disney Pixar. This film will be brought to us by the creative minds behind the beloved Luca film, director Enrico Casarosa and producer Andrea Warren.

This new Pixar film takes place in Venice, Italy, where, after years of maneuvering the seaside city, a black cat named Nero begins to question whether he’s lived the right lives. A partial music-lover and non-swimming feline who is indebted to a local mob boss, Nero finds himself in quite a predicament and is forced to forge an unexpected friendship with Maya, a street artist who adopts him against his will.
Another animated favorite is coming to Disney Jr. AND Disney+ soon! Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ will debut July 21st on Disney Jr. and the next day on Disney+.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ is a continuation of the beloved Disney Jr. original series, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, and is set to premiere at 9 AM PDT/EDT on July 21st on Disney Jr. Disney just reported the first ten episodes will be available to stream on Disney+ in the U.S. and select international markets, as well as on Disney Jr. On Demand, the next day, beginning July 22nd. The series will continue to roll out globally throughout 2025.

Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ continues the adventures of Mickey and pals from the original global hit, which aired from 2006-2016 and is still breaking records as a Top 3 series for preschoolers on streaming and over 5 billion views on YouTube. Known for its iconic earworm, the “Hot Dog!” song, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse fans can rest assured that the new version of this series will continue to feature the song, which is also included on the soundtrack (available digitally starting July 18th). Additionally, Mickey Mouse Clubhouse+ aims to bring back all of the favorites from the original series like the Mousekedoer, Mouseketools, and Toodles, while also introducing the new handy helping friend Little Helper and Duffy the Disney Bear, who will make surprise appearances. Other “plussed up” elements include the expansion of the Clubhouse with the Laughing Loft, a hilarious hangout zone, and the Wacky Tube, which gets Mickey and pals where they need to go in fun and silly ways. Minnie, Daisy, Donald, and Goofy will also each get their own personalized clubhouses, which will be revealed throughout the series.
WOW — it sounds like we’re in for a treat with all the animated projects coming out over the next few days and years. There’s a lot to look forward to from both Disney and Pixar, and we can’t wait to see what’s announced and teased beyond this first update on a few of these projects already.
