D23: The Ultimate Disney Fan Event was filled with tons of announcements about what’s coming to the Disney parks and Disney Cruise Line, but that wasn’t all!
We also got to hear (and see, in some cases) what’s coming down the pipeline for Disney and Pixar feature films and tv series! One of the most exciting announcements was that a new original Pixar film is getting ready to hit theaters in the coming years, and now we have an official release date!
Hoppers is a new Pixar film that’s a “body-swap comedy about a young girl who uses technology to understand the inner thoughts of animals” according to Variety. This new film, starring Jon Hamm, Bobby Moynihan, and Piper Curda, will hit theaters on March 6th, 2026 — yes, we’ve still got about a year and a half to wait!
It sounds like it’ll be a very entertaining family-friendly film, and we can’t wait to hear more about it in the future!
Also announced at D23 was the confirmation of Frozen 3, which now has a release date of November 27th, 2027, and the potential of Frozen 4. We also got confirmation that Moana 2 is set for release on November 27th, 2024!
Pixar also has its first ever original series debuting on December 6th, 2024! It’s called Win or Lose and follows “the intertwined stories of eight different characters as they each prepare for their big championship softball game.”
