5 Things That Actually Got LESS Complicated at Disney World So Far This Year

There have been some big changes in 2025 at Disney World, but 5 changes made it easier for guests!

Magic Kingdom

In 2025, Disney World is adding a new nighttime parade, new lounges, and saying goodbye to a few lands. While so much is changing, there are a few changes that have made Disney World easier this year.

1. New Early Entry Procedures

Previously, if you were staying at a Disney World hotel and got that 30-minute Early Entry perk, you were limited to only Fantasyland and Tomorrowland. That meant you couldn’t even walk into Frontierland, Adventureland, or Liberty Square until the park officially opened.

Now, Disney resort guests can walk over to those lands before the park officially opens, and get in line for rides like Jungle Cruise, Pirates of the Caribbean, and even Haunted Mansion. However, these rides don’t start operating until the regular park opening time.

If you’re a Disney resort guest, you now have a whole new world of options for rope drop. Not only can you go straight for Seven Dwarfs Mine Train or Space Mountain like before, but now you can also line up for rides in Frontierland, Adventureland, and Liberty Square.

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure

Guardians of the Galaxy Cosmic Rewind is also now open during Early Entry, giving Disney resort guests a big step ahead in getting on this very popular attraction. This ride can rack up the wait time, so it’s a big benefit to get it out of the way before the park even opens!

2. No More Virtual Queues

On February 25th, both Tiana’s Bayou Adventure at the Magic Kingdom and Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind at EPCOT transitioned from using a virtual queue to a traditional standby queue system.

Many guests appreciated this move as it gives everyone the opportunity in the park the opportunity to wait in a standby line without having to wake up early and grab a virtual queue that may or may not get called.

3. Airline Resort Bag Pickup

On April 3rd, Disney brought back its Airport Luggage Transfer. Previously known as Resort Airline Check-In, this service allows guests to drop off their checked luggage and have it delivered directly to their flight. No more lugging it to the airport and dealing with the long check-in counter, which makes things a lot less complicated for some guests!

Luggage Assistance

Right now, this service is only available for guests flying with Southwest Airlines and departing from Orlando International Airport (MCO) from the following Disney Value Resorts:

  • Disney’s All-Star Movies Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Music Resort
  • Disney’s All-Star Sports Resort
  • Disney’s Art of Animation Resort
  • Disney’s Pop Century Resort

4. Both Water Parks Open

On May 20th, for the first time since 2019, both Typhoon Lagoon and Blizzard Beach will be open at the same time this summer! For the last several years, these water parks have operated on an alternating schedule where only one park is open at a time.

From May 21st through September 7th, 2025, both of the water parks will be in operation for guests to choose between. Disney shared that this is in celebration of Cool Kid Summer and Blizzard Beach’s 30th anniversary. This gives options for visitors to choose from!

5. Simpler Room Categories

Disney has changed the hotel categories for 2026 bookings. This change aims to “simplify room categories and to improve Guests’ check-in experience.” The Moderate Resorts that will change room names include Disney’s Caribbean Beach ResortDisney’s Coronado Springs ResortDisney’s Port Orleans Resort—French Quarter, and Disney’s Port Orleans Resort—Riverside.
