REVIEW: Three NEW Menu Items Just Hit This Disney Springs Restaurant, Including the Return of LOBSTER CORN DOGS

Planning a trip to Disney Springs and not sure where you should eat while you’re there? Luckily, we’ve got you covered!

Disney Springs

There are dozens of dining spots around Disney Springs, and some are better than others! Recently, NEW items arrived at Paddlefish, so we’re heading there to try them out and give our full review — should you go to this restaurant?

Background

If you’ve ever been to Disney Springs, Paddlefish is pretty hard to miss! It’s the GIGANTIC paddle boat restaurant in the Landing area of the shopping and dining complex.

Paddlefish

Here, they serve a menu with a main focus on seafood, and it’s one of the pricier options in Disney Springs. But it really can’t be beat when it comes to views!

Time to eat!

Dining reservations are recommended, but if it’s not too busy, you can likely get walk-up availability.

Atmosphere

The restaurant is made of three separate levels. When you arrive, you’ll walk into the first level, which is home to a few dining rooms as well as the host’s stand.

Inside Paddlefish

Each level has multiple dining spaces as well as at least one bar. The table setups are absolutely STUNNING.

Gorgeous!

The first floor has three separate dining rooms, each surrounded by windows.

Stunning!

On the second floor, you’ll find more dining spaces, as well as a handicap accessible restroom next to the elevator.

Up on the second floor

And on the top floor, most of the dining areas are outdoors. The patio seating wasn’t open during lunch, but you can sometimes dine out here in the evenings.

A beautiful place to sit

And once again, there’s another bar!

The views from up here can’t be beat, but what about the eats?

Food & Drinks

During our recent visit, we mostly stopped by to get some NEW menu items, including one that’s returning from a few years ago.

Time to eat!

We started out with the Crab Boursin Dip, which is $12 and served with sesame crackers.

Crab Boursin Dip

This was interesting. Blue crab is typically known for being briny and sweet, and while we did get the brininess, so much so it’s almost fishy, there weren’t any sweet undertones. The cheese flavor is strong, but the crab outweighed it — you’ll definitely want to expect STRONG flavors here.

Closer look at the dip

We don’t think the sesame crackers were the best fit with this dip because the sesame flavor itself is VERY strong and contrasts with the flavor of the crab. Overall, the textures are what we wanted, but there was something off about the flavors here that really didn’t work for us.

These didn’t really mix well

For our second appetizer, we ordered an item that just returned to the menu after a multi-year hiatus — the Lobster Corn Dogs, which are market price (it was $24 for us). These are Cornmeal breaded lobster skewers, sweet chili aioli, and lemon.

Lobster Corn Dogs

These are about as good as we were expecting — the cornmeal breading gives them a hint of sweetness, the lobster was tender with a bit of chew to it (but not too much!) and weren’t too fishy. Will this be the best lobster you’ve ever had? Not likely, no, but it’s pretty solid, and we loved the sweet chili aioli that comes with it on the side — really helps enhance the flavor! The lemon is also available for you to spritz over it as well, but that is up to personal taste preference if you’ll enjoy it or not. We’d definitely consider getting these again, but we’d want to check the market price first!

We really loved them!

And for the entree, we got the Burrata Panzanella. It’s made with Cherry tomatoes, Kalamata olives, cucumbers, toasted bread, basil, and costs $20. This was GREAT! It’s not something our reporter would have normally chosen for themselves, but it was fantastic.

Burrata Panzanella

The burrata on top falls apart when you cut into it, it’s creamy, light, and smooth, and pairs so well with the other ingredients. The cucumber adds that watery element, is beautifully crunchy, and the spinach walnut pesto really helped tie it all together, giving it an earthy flavor. The toasted bread was crunchy, buttery, and tasted garlicky, making it a great pairing.

SO good!

We also loved the addition of the olives, as it darkens the overall flavor in a great way, making it more balanced. We’d absolutely get this again and again!

Magic or Tragic?
