Disney World Files Permit for Construction on DINOSAUR

A classic Animal Kingdom land is closing down, and we’re saying our sad goodbyes.

Animal Kingdom

DinoLand, U.S.A. has already begun the closing process to make way for the new Tropical Americas land that’s replacing it. A couple attractions and a gift shop shut down at the beginning of 2025, but the rest of the land is closing later on…including our beloved DINOSAUR ride.

A notice of commencement on construction has been filed for DINOSAUR in Animal Kingdom. The permit, which was filed with Orange County, FL, is for the Buena Vista Construction company to begin work at the attraction’s address.

The permit was filed on April 25th, 2025, and it expires a year later (so construction should begin within that timeline). The description includes the construction company providing labor, materials, and/or electrical construction services.

The whole area is changing!

We know that DINOSAUR is set to remain open through the rest of 2025, and will close permanently in 2026. Also closing at that time will be The Boneyard, Dino-Bite Snacks, and Restaurantosaurus. In their place, we’ll be getting new rides, attractions, and dining spots in the Tropical Americas.

We’ll be on the lookout for any more construction permits for closing DinoLand, U.S.A. offerings, and we’ll keep you updated when we get official closing information. We know there will be quite a few people who want to say goodbye to Dr. Grant Seeker and the Iguanadon!
