Why Disney Adults Are Suddenly Lining Up at a Walk-On Attraction in Magic Kingdom

The sun is shining, spring is in full bloom, and we’re reporting live from the Magic Kingdom for a special event! What’s so special about April 27th, you may ask? Well, if you find yourself in Disney World, you might see a horde of well-dressed Disney fans in the parks! They’re here for Dapper Days in Disney World — one of our FAVORITE unofficial Disney events EVER.

On April 27th, the Dapper Day fans assembled for a “Liberty Belle Farewell” event in Magic Kingdom. We were there to see TONS of dapper Disney fans, and the outfits did NOT disappoint.

This might be the best-dressed group of people we’ve EVER seen on the Liberty Belle attraction! The official @dapperday Instagram account posted the full itinerary for the 2025 Spring Events, and April 27th was the “Liberty Belle Farewell.” The event took place in Liberty Square, where fans took “one final riverboat voyage before this 51-year-old attraction permanently closes.”

Yes, it’s true. The iconic Liberty Belle attraction will be closing soon. Disney previously announced that two new Cars rides will be going in Frontierland in a new Cars Land. The two new Cars rides will replace what is currently the Rivers of America and Tom Sawyer Island. What better way to say goodbye than with one final lap around the river in your fanciest attire, right?

Now, we know that this was a “farewell” event, but keep in mind that we still don’t have a closing date for Tom Sawyer Island of the Rivers of America. This is more of a sendoff than an official “goodbye.”

We saw SO MANY great looks!

In 2024, Disney announced that construction on the new Cars attractions would “begin in early 2025.” We have seen the beginning phases of this construction project in the form of a permit for Rivers of America, but Disney has yet to share a more specific closing timeline. In the meantime, we can sit back and enjoy a few more laps around Magic Kingdom.
