There are a lot of options for Disney World hotels, so how do you know which one is right for you? It would be so helpful for your friend to stay at one first and tell you how it is. Well, hi, we’re your friend that’s here to help!

We are sharing things we wish we knew before we stayed at Disney’s Art of Animation Resort. When you’re spending as much money as you do on a Disney World hotel, you want it to be the right one for you. So, let’s go!
If you’re looking for a travel agent to help with your vacation, we recommend our friends at Mouse Fan Travel. They’re experts in the field with over 20 years of vacation planning experience, and they can help take a bunch of the stress out of the entire booking process for you!
The Skyliner Might Not Be Your BFF
The Skyliner can be seen as a big perk for guests wanting to stay at Art of Animation. For a relatively short walk, guests can arrive at the Skyliner hub shared with Pop Century. However, there are times when the transportation goes down. If the weather is bad, which can be around the summer months, the Skyliner can be suspended until it is safe to ride again. They will set up a bus when this happens to take you to your destination but don’t be surprised if this happens to you.

Also, it gets crowded! If you want to use the Skyliner for early entry or rope drop at EPCOT or Disney’s Hollywood Studios, you will need to line up EARLY! If you are traveling around a holiday, be prepared to wait in a long line to get back to your resort. We saw this line on New Year’s Eve for the Skyliner.

Limited Food Options
The value resorts offer a food court instead of restaurants and Art of Animation is no different with the Landscape of Flavors food court. The food court offers counter service for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. It serves an array of dishes — from hearty cuisine to healthier across 5 distinctive food shops at breakfast, lunch, and dinner daily.

If your travel party is looking for a table service restaurant to relax at, this might not be the hotel for you. It can be pretty loud and crowded here during peak meal times.

The Family Suites are Cheaper Elsewhere
There are family suites available at this resort, but you can also stay at Disney’s All-Star Music in a family suite for much cheaper. Those rooms are small, so it does make sense they are cheaper, but if space isn’t a concern, you might want to check those out.

Bring The Dog
Art of Animation is a pet-friendly resort. The designated pet-friendly buildings include #2 (Cars suites), #5 (Finding Nemo suites), and #7 (The Little Mermaid). Pet-friendly rooms have a $50 per night pet-cleaning rate. If you are interested in bringing your dog with you, I can speak from experience, Disney made this very easy even giving us a welcome bag for our pup.

You Better LOVE Disney
Unlike moderate or deluxe resorts, the Disney theming is heavy here. There is Disney everywhere — your hotel room, as soon as you walk out of your room, the pool, the food court — okay, you get our point. But, if you want a break from Disney while on your vacation, a hotel like Disney’s Wilderness Lodge or The Grand Floridian has more subtle Disney nods instead of a giant Ariel statue.

We hope this helps you to think through if Art of Animation is right for your next Disney World trip. For more on Disney World, be sure to follow AllEars.net
