The 8 Disney World Restaurants With the Worst Yelp Reviews

Not every Disney World restaurant is going to be a winner.

Columbia Harbour House

The truth is that you may love a restaurant that someone else can’t stand, or vice versa. We all have different tastebuds, and that’s just one of the reasons we say to take any recommendations you get about your upcoming Disney World trip with a grain of salt because everyone’s preferences are different! However, out of curiosity, we turned to Yelp to see what some of the most universally disliked restaurants in Disney World are and we have one word — YIKES.

Rosie’s All-American Cafe at Disney’s Hollywood Studios

Hollywood Studios really isn’t known for its dining options, that much is pretty obvious when you see the restaurants we normally recommend, but Rosie’s is one of the worst among them. At least, according to Yelp, where users gave it a 2.6/5 with 54 reviews.

Rosie’s All-American Cafe

We’ll be honest, this isn’t a restaurant we really ever consider when we’re in the parks. It’s a quick service spot that serves up classic theme park offerings and usually isn’t very exciting. There are 100% better places to go than this, so while we wouldn’t necessarily put it as low as 2.6/5, we definitely don’t recommend it.

The Diamond Horseshoe at Magic Kingdom

Many guests forget about The Diamond Horseshoe in Magic Kingdom but overlook it for other more exciting table service options. This spot serves up classic American dishes in an all-you-care-to-enjoy style, but to Yelp reviewers, it’s not worth it, ranking 3/5 with 128 reviews.

The Diamond Horseshoe

Funny enough, this restaurant shares a kitchen with Liberty Tree Tavern and has nearly identical offerings, but you won’t find Liberty Tree Tavern on this list. We’ll admit, we prefer Liberty Tree Tavern over this spot as well. Not because anything is terribly wrong with Diamond Horseshoe per say, but we just enjoy the ambiance and experience of Liberty Tree Tavern a little bit more.

Pinocchio Village Haus at Magic Kingdom

We were surprised to see this quick service spot ranked 3/5 with 248 reviews as well. In fact, that’s actually a little higher than we’d give it, because this is a restaurant we actively warn people to stay away from.

Pinocchio Village Haus

There are SO many quick service spots in Fantasyland alone, and this one is the weakest in our eyes. The food is often meh or just flat out not good, we have nightmares about some of the flatbreads here…just trust us when we say it’s best to go elsewhere.

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn and Cafe at Magic Kingdom

We’re calling BLASPHEMY on Yelp reviewers giving Pecos Bill’s a 3.1/5 rating with 521 reviews! Is it the best food you’ll find around? No, but it’s something different than classic theme park food and it’s good (well, for Mexican food in a theme park)!

Pecos Bill’s

This restaurant did just recently see a menu revamp so if you weren’t a fan of the old offerings, then we think it’s time to give this one another try. If you’re still not into it, that’s totally fine, but this is a restaurant we say to try it before you knock it!

Hollywood & Vine at Hollywood Studios

Another restaurant in Hollywood Studios that Yelp reviewers strongly dislike is Hollywood & Vine, the character dining option that allows you to see some of your favorite classic Disney or Disney Junior pals. This one got a 3.3/5 out of 385 reviews.

Hollywood & Vine

We’ll admit, the buffet here isn’t anything special and many adults will likely strongly dislike the ambiance unless they’re traveling with a child or someone who adores meeting the characters here. Our opinion? We think it’s great for kiddos and those who are a kid at heart, but even then, there are better character dining options out there.

The Friar’s Nook at Magic Kingdom

We’re about to bounce back and forth here between two parks for the remainder of the post so beware, but Friar’s Nook in Fantasyland is also not where we’d suggest dining at. 89 Yelp reviewers gave it a 3.3/5.

Friar’s Nook

Why so few reviews, you may ask? Well, this spot really doesn’t have any seating, like at all, so it’s essentially just a few walk-up windows, which are easy to walk right by and not notice. We personally think there are a few good options here, but not enough to tell you that it’s a MUST stop — if you’re hungry and something on the menu looks good to you, then you likely won’t be disappointed, but it won’t blow your mind.

Backlot Express at Hollywood Studios

Oh look, we’re back in Hollywood Studios (noticing a pattern here yet? You likely now know which parks have the worst dining options) for Backlot Express. 186 Yelp reviewers gave this spot a 3.3/5, but we have to admit — we SO disagree!

Backlot Express

Yep, this is actually one of our favorite quick service spots in Hollywood Studios. We find it’s always reliable with its traditional theme park offerings (and hey, sometimes you’re just really craving some chicken tenders), there’s plenty of seating in a really cool ambiance, and we’ve never been let down here. Again, it won’t blow your mind, but it’s solid!

Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe at Magic Kingdom

And finally, we find ourselves at Cosmic Ray’s Starlight Cafe, which is often the busiest and most crowded quick service spot in the park. The amount of seating here is nearly unlimited (not really, but it feels like that), you’ve got great entertainment by Sonny Eclipse, and yet 432 reviewers on Yelp gave it 3.3/5.

Cosmic Ray’s

Are we saying this is the best option during your Magic Kingdom day? No, not at all, but again, it’s solid! If you’re okay with regular theme park food that won’t knock your socks off and you just want to sit down in the AC for a second, then there’s nothing wrong with this spot in our eyes!

Careful though, crowds can look like this

  1. Most of these are fair, but I have two disagreements. Like you, my family loves Backlot Express. It’s one of our favorites. But I have to disagree with the bad reviews of Pinocchio Village Haus. We haven’t had a bad experience there yet, but even more importantly, they have some of the best options for allergy-friendly dining. My sister is often disappointed with the gluten-free options offered (or more often, not offered) at the quick service locations, but Pinocchio Village Haus has been a godsend. They have the best GF chicken tenders in Magic Kingdom.

  2. I agree with these choices of underwhelming restaurants with one exception: Friar’s Nook. For cheese lovers, it’s hard to turn down their Mac & Cheese and cheesy loaded Tater Tots. Now I see Tiana’s beignets have been added to their menu, which raises the Nook up another notch for this diner. It’s good to see Tony’s Town Square Cafe is no longer making the list of least-favorite restaurants. Ever since they added their garlic bread with cheesy fondue dipping sauce, it’s become a must-do for us!
