Disney World offers rides of all kinds. There are iconic animatronic-filled rides like The Jungle Cruise, “it’s a small world”, Pirates of the Caribbean, and the Haunted Mansion that embody the classic spirit of Disney, legendary trailblazers like Splash Mountain, Soarin’, and the Twilight Zone Tower of Terror, and technologically advanced mega-attractions like Guardians of the Galaxy: Cosmic Rewind, TRON Light/Cycle Run.

However, sometimes, the excitement of riding these attractions can get the best of guests, who end up breaking some ride rules by accident. We are here with some of those rules that Cast Members are literally begging you to stop breaking.
The biggest rule that Cast Members are begging you to stop breaking is standing up when you should not be standing up. It is super dangerous to stand up on a ride when you shouldn’t, and while safety is the number one priority for Cast Members, injuries can still happen if you aren’t following directions. Follow all the instructions given by Cast Members, but definitely do not attempt to stand up on an attraction when you should not be. Make sure you are properly seated throughout the experience.

Not only is standing up very dangerous, but it can also slow down the operation of the ride. If you are standing up somewhere you shouldn’t be, Cast Members might need to stop the entire attraction until everyone is seated properly. Make sure you are also watching any kiddos on rides to ensure they are staying properly seated.

While staying seated is one of the biggest rules Cast Members are begging you to stop breaking, there are also some additional rules that you should be aware of that are often ignored.

If you choose to use the Single Rider line to experience an attraction, you can not request a specific row or be seated with other party members. The Single Rider line is to help fill rows, so Cast Members will not be able to accommodate specific requests. You might get lucky and be able to sit with someone in your party, but it is never a guarantee, and it isn’t something you can request.

As well, many attractions and shows do not allow flash photography. If you plan to take photos during the attraction, double-check your settings and double-check that you don’t have the flash turned on. Often, people don’t even realize their flash is on until they take a photo, so make certain that your flash is off!

Finally, make sure you are securing personal belongings as instructed. Whether that be putting away any loose items like a phone or sunglasses or storing your bag in a specific location, listening to Cast Member instructions will help ensure that you don’t lose any of your belongings on the ride. No one wants to lose anything on a ride! Also, depending on the attraction, what is dropped, and where it is dropped, personal belongings could also cause the ride to temporarily close down.

While these are by no means an extensive list of rules you should follow on rides, they are important things to keep in mind! Most importantly, make sure you are listening to Cast Members. They are there to keep everyone safe and to allow you to have an enjoyable experience on the ride.
