We’ve talked a lot about unspoken dress codes at Universal Orlando, but there’s none quite as noticeable as the one Boomers have adopted.

Sure, Millennials, Harry Potter fans, and Gen Z have their own sense of style but Boomers are the OG theme park-goers that have a style built to last for decades. If you don’t believe us, take a look around you the next time you’re visiting Universal Orlando, and see if we’re right!

Sometimes its just too hard to let go of a good thing when you know you have it and that seems to be exactly what Boomers have figured out. For a day out at Universal Orlando, comfortability is the name of the game to get them through their entire day (and a mid day nap, of course)!

While you might stare and snicker at their unspoken dress code, the Boomer generation will be the first to tell you just how much they’ve got the upper hand and how they’re not all-consumed by the latest fashion trends.
We’ve rounded up a complete list of style we’ve determined to be the Boomer’s unspoken dress code for Universal Orlando and we’re submitting it for their approval right now.
Men, your choice of shirts is crucial!

We can’t begin to tell you how many times we’ve seen the comfy fad for Boomers start with their top piece of clothing. We’ve seen it all! Everything from Tommy Bahama button up shirts (the more tropical the better) to even casual polos that add a sophisticated button feel to the mix. We’re sure these options are ones that will keep you feeling light and airy as the wind blows past you and keeps those pesky UV rays at bay.
Khaki seems to be the only answer for bottoms.

Now that we’ve gotten the first part of their chosen outfit down, its time we address the “universal” choice for the second part of the Boomer outfit — the khakis. These can be super versatile and they’re not discriminating against shorts or long pants. In fact, the more options to give them, the better!
Don’t forget about the ultimate eyewear solution — a lanyard!

Ah yes, no Boomer outfit is more befitting than topping off their look with a gripped lanyard built to carry their eyeglasses. They’re thinking very practically when there’s tons of people around and know that hunting their glasses on the ground through the crowds is a recipe for disaster.
The ultimate comfort comes in the form of orthopedic shoes!

You know the ones — they’re usually white or cream colored and typically come fit with velco securing straps. You might be laughing now, but Boomers will be the ones with the last laugh as they feel like they’re stepping on clouds with each stride while your trendy shoes leave you blistered and sore.
Speaking of sun protection, they’re going to need a hat! Men typically vie for the trucker style hats that are vented in the back and feature a solid colored flat bill front. The hat itself usually has NOTHING to do with Universal or theme parks in general and that makes it all the more iconic of a wear.
On the flip side, ladies tend to spring for a sun visor!

Sun visor hats that tie in the back could be a great fashion accessory to the Boomer dress code in the parks AND a staple at the pool especially when charged with watching over the grandkids splashing around.
No matter the weather, it might get chilly enough for a light sweater.

It never fails — Boomers come prepared and even on the brightest and sunniest of days, they’re not going to be caught out and about without a light sweater juuuust in case.
If they’re a grandparent, they’ve likely traded in that polo or button up shirt for a “most expensive day ever” shirt!

This cheeky phrase scrawled in graphic print over Boomer shirts has become somewhat of a right of passage in theme park visitors over the past few decades. It’s also a solid choice to look for when you’re guessing who to pass the dinner bill over, too.
How else will they get around the park without their waterproof phone lanyard case?

Listen — Boomers are resourceful, they can totally fend for themselves. But like we’ve mentioned before, they simply try not to leave certain things to chance. Having their phones take an unexpected dip in the pool or having to deal with the inconvenience of pulling it in and out of their pocket dozens of times during the day just doesn’t spell practicality to them. By fixing their phones in a waterproof lanyard they can wear around their necks, they’re able to limit the variables that would lead to a disappointing vacation and a heft phone replacement.
