Universal Announces Opening Date for NEW Minion Land in Singapore

Universal is opening a NEW Minions land.

Over the last decade+, the Minions have become one of Universal’s marquee franchises, with lands and attractions dedicated to the Despicable Me characters at numerous parks including Universal Studios Florida and Universal Studios Hollywood. Now, Universal is about to open a new Minions-themed land at one of their international parks.

This coming February will see the opening of a new Minion Land at Universal Studios Singapore, located at Resorts World Sentosa (RWS).

The latest land, which is scheduled to open on February 14th, 2025, is a partnership between Universal Creative, Illumination, and RWS and will feature “new, immersive experiences including themed dining, exclusive merchandise, and a show along with previously announced rides.”

Ride-wise, the new land will feature a version of Despicable Me: Minion Mayhem (a version of the 3D-simulator ride featured at Universal Studios Florida), the Silly Swirly swing ride – – a “world’s first original ride exclusive to Universal Studios Singapore” – – and the Buggie Boogie, an “Minions’ dance party carousel with new music remixed by the Minions.”

The land will also feature a new show: Minute of Minion Mayhem. The show features the Minions and Gru’s girls – Margo, Edith, and Agnes – taking over the streets, featuring “fart guns, catchy dance moves, and a meet and greet at the end.” Furthermore, “fans who can’t get enough of their favorite characters” can find additional meet and greets featuring the Minions, Gru and Lucy, and the girls scattered throughout the land.

Beyond the entertainment, the land will also feature shipping and dining options including:

The Super Hungry Food Stand is“a charming boardwalk eatery serving up hearty fare” themed to “classic carnival game kiosks – Down-a-Clown, Lucky Ducky, and Balloon Dart – that have been taken over by none other than the Minions.” The menu will feature dishes including Japanese curry chicken karaage rice with crispy chicken karaage and poached vegetables, a vegan burger featuring a crunchy mushroom patty with guacamole, and Minion Mantous served with Singapore chili crab sauce. Kids menu offerings will include chicken fingers with sweet potato balls, rainbow cheesecake inspired by Fluffy, and creamy Tim Bear mousse cake.

The land’s primary shopping experience will be the Minion Marketplace. This massive themed retail space will feature three distinct theme areas: Sweet Surrender, Pop Store, and Fun Store, each with specialty merchandise available. Some of these offerings include limited edition Super Silly Space Killer vinyl collectible figures and a full Super Silly Fun Land Collection that “captures the vibrant energy of the land’s carnival area with 15 items spanning themed apparel, homeware, and souvenirs. Highlights include a whimsical 3D mug, playful 3D blue bucket hat, and fun puzzle keychain.” Finally, the Minion Sakura Collection – available in March 2025 – will include “apparel, accessories, and stationery with designs showcasing the Minions enjoying the cherry blossom season in soft pink and white hues.”
