The ONE Thing You Keep Forgetting About When Booking a Disney World Hotel

Staying at Disney World hotels is a magical way to plus up your vacation, but we have to admit that it’s extremely important you remember a few things when you go to book your hotel.

It’s important to think about if you’d like to book a value hotel and save some money but forgo some additional perks and amenities, spend top dollar and stay at a deluxe hotel with those additional amenities, or go in the middle with a moderate hotel. However, there’s one VERY important thing a lot of people forget to consider when booking a Disney World hotel, and we don’t want you to forget it too! 

When choosing what hotel to stay at, you may look at the theming, and of course, the cost, but we’re here to tell you that you also need to pay close attention to the SIZE of your resort.

In a recent Everything in Disney World episode, Emma mentioned how her family used to love staying at Port Orleans French Quarter because it’s one of the smallest resorts out there which makes getting around with kiddos MUCH easier.

Not all Disney hotels are built the same, and some of them, like Disney Value Resorts and specifically Disney’s Caribbean Beach Resort and Port Orleans Riverside, are so incredibly spread out it makes walking around them a pain. While that may not seem like a big issue at the beginning of your day, the moment you get back to your hotel after a hugely long day and you realize you have a long walk back to your hotel room…yeah, that’s a pain no one wants to deal with.

If you’re traveling with young kids, or you would like a shorter walk for any reason, Port Orleans French Quarter is one of the biggest we recommend. Disney’s Riviera Resort is also much smaller than many others, and almost any of Disney’s Deluxe Resorts will give you a shorter walk.

If you’re not looking to spend money on a Deluxe Resort, we understand that! You can also request preferred rooms at other Disney World hotels or pay extra for a preferred room that will put you closer to the transportation options at the hotel.
