We Bet You Didn’t Know About the MOST SECRET BAR in Disney World

If there’s one thing Disney World knows how to do, it’s hide little gems in plain sight.

Animal Kingdom

I’m sure you’re all familiar with Hidden Mickey’s and other fun details that the Imagineers have snuck in all throughout the parks and the resorts, but what if you’re looking to wet your whistle at a spot that’s a bit off the beaten path? Well, we’re positive that you had no idea about the most secret bar in all of Disney World and it’s at Disney’s Animal Kingdom!

As we were saying, if you’re all about finding hidden hangouts for the ultimate bragging rights (or just to enjoy a pretty hidden spot), we’ve got a fun one for you — Chef Mwanga’s Meat Shop.

Chef Mwanga’s Meat Shop

Yes, you read that right. At first glance, this sounds like the last place you’d go to grab a drink, but don’t be fooled! It’s tucked away in the Harambe Market of Animal Kingdom.

Also, Chef Mwanga’s Meat Shop is home to some unique cocktails and refreshing beverages.

Why You’ve Never Heard of It

Let’s be honest. The word “meat” doesn’t exactly scream “bar,” but that’s the genius of it! It blends right into the bustling, open-air Harambe Market.

Harambe Market

This “meat shop” is so low-key that even the most dedicated Disney fans might pass right by without realizing they’re missing out on a hidden bar. Unlike other bars in Disney, this spot doesn’t go out of its way to advertise. It’s part of the Harambe Market, so it only operates during the restaurant’s hours, which adds to its low-profile vibe.

What’s on the Menu?

Chef Mwanga’s drink offerings sound as exotic as they are refreshing, with cocktails inspired by the vibrant flavors of Africa.

Here’s what’s on the menu:

    • Harambe Sunrise – If you’re looking for a fruity, tropical vibe, this one’s a winner. Otherwise, the non-alcoholic version is $6.29.
    • Fichwa Maji – Going by a literal translation, the name means “hidden water” in Swahili, which feels appropriate for a drink from a hidden bar! This drink combines pineapple juice, blue curaçao, and coconut, all topped with a pineapple garnish. Add Parrot Bay Coconut Rum for $13.50, or go without for $6.29.
    • African Wildflower – This drink is all about the tartness of lemonade mixed with a hint of desert pear, garnished with a slice of lemon. If you’re in the mood for something stronger, you can add Skyy Citrus Vodka for $14.50. The non-alcoholic option is $6.29.
