FULL REVIEW: We Tried a New Dole Whip, Over-the-Top Corn Dog Nuggets, and MORE in Magic Kingdom!

It might only be August, but we’re celebrating Halloween!

We love Halloween!

Magic Kingdom is decorated and ready to celebrate spooky season. Tonight, August 9th is the first Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween Party of the year, and you know we’ll be there. But before the party starts there are a few new Halloween snacks that are available around the park during regular hours. So come with us as we give them a try!

Aloha Isle Refreshments

We’re over in Adventureland grabbing the new DOLE Whip Mango and Chamoy Float for $7.29 at Aloha Isle! It is made with DOLE Whip Mango, pineapple juice, chamoy, and chili-lime seasoning.

This is SO yummy. The chamoy and chili-lime seasoning aren’t overpowering, but they add a nice smoky balance to the sweetness of the pineapple juice. We kinda’ wanted even MORE of that spiciness. This is the perfect Dole Whip treat if you don’t like super sweet things.

For the record, this may be our new favorite Dole Whip treat!

Plaza Ice Cream Parlor

Next, let’s stop by the Plaza Ice Cream Parlor for the new Ice Cream Chocolate Cookie Sandwich. This sandwich has Halloween cookies with M&M’S Ghoul’s Mix Chocolate Candies and your choice of ice cream sandwiched between them! This ice cream sandwich is $7.49.

This is chocolatey goodness. The cookie has a nice fudgy flavor and we love the pop of color from the M&Ms. The cookie is also soft (pro tip: grab a spoon because it WILL fall apart). This is a MUST for chocolate fans, even if it isn’t anything special except for its Halloween look.

Note that you can also choose which ice cream flavor you want with the sandwich. It’s also shareable — if you want it to be.

Casey’s Corner

The new Chipotle Barbecue Pork and Street Corn French Fries from Casey’s Corner are French fries topped with fire-roasted corn, queso fresco, and cilantro. You can pick them up for $7.79. The French Fries are very similar to the Chipotle Barbeque Pork and Street Corn Mini Corn Dogs which are Mini corn dogs topped with fire-roasted corn, queso fresco, and cilantro. The mini corn dogs are $10.79.

Okay, BOTH of these are amazing. They both have the same toppings, so you’ll just have to decide if you’re in the mood for fries or mini corn dogs. There is a ton of tender pork on both and it has a nice barbecue flavor with a hint of sweetness. The queso fresco is creamy and you get a LOT of it. There are also small pieces of bell pepper, which just makes a great combo with the corn. If we had to choose, though, we think we like the fries a little bit better. They’re classic Disney fries, and we have NO problems with that.

The corn dogs got a little soggy, but we did take a little while to taste them because we were trying to get photos. They also come with fries, so you kinda’ get BOTH snacks in one with this one.

Overall, we loved both of these snacks. We love that they’re so unique, too.

Churro Cart near Cinderella Castle

The Churro Cart near Cinderella Castle is serving up the new Worms ‘n Dirt Churro for $7.25. This is like the classic dessert on a churro! It is a churro rolled in cookies and cream dust and topped with marshmallow and sour gummy candy. YUM!

Worms ‘n Dirt Churro

Okay, this treat is super cute. The churro itself has a bit of a cookies and cream flavor, but that has more to do with the cookies and cream dust on it. However, like many Disney World churros, it tasted like it had been sitting too long: aka, it was a bit stale (seriously, Disney World, get your churro act together).

A+ for presentation, though

The worms do not taste very good with the churro, but we liked them by themselves. The marshmallow is almost like a marshmallow fluff and we liked how it tasted with the churro. However, this one didn’t wow us with flavor, but we did like the presentation.

Auntie Gravity’s Galactic Goodies

Also new this year is the Candy Corn Soft-serve Sundae from Auntie Gravity’s. This is just as it sounds: sweet corn soft-serve with butterscotch shell and candy corn! It’s $7.79.

We had to put some thought into this one because of the sweet corn soft-serve flavor. However, we really didn’t taste it at all. Instead, it tasted more like vanilla with a light butterscotch touch. The butterscotch shell added a nice crunch and texture — and the flavor was great.

The candy corns are just regular candy corns…love them or hate them. They got hard on the soft-serve, though. We weren’t big fans, but that’s a personal preference.

The Lunching Pad

Last, but not least this Halloween season is the Jalapeño Popper Dog at The Lunching Pad. This is an all-beef hot dog topped with sriracha cream cheese, crispy onions, bacon, and hades relish for $14.79. We didn’t get this one this time around, but we wanted to let you know it’s available.

There are lots of new snacks to try this Halloween season! These are a few of the options that are available during regular park hours and Mickey’s Not-So-Scary Halloween party, so you don’t necessarily need an event ticket to give them a try.

We’re headed to the party later this evening, so stay tuned for updates on AllEars.net!
