Something NEW Just Opened at the American Adventure Pavilion at EPCOT

One of our favorite parts about Disney World is that it keeps changing. Although it causes heartbreak (no, I’m still not over the Great Movie Ride being replaced), it can also cause excitement.

The American Adventure

Tiana’s Bayou Adventure is getting ready to open, as well as the brand new CommuniCore Hall and Plaza area in EPCOT. Country Bear Jamboree is also in the middle of being revamped and set to open later this summer. But now there’s something new to check out in EPCOT and it’s hiding in the American Adventure pavilion!

There are perks to visiting every pavilion, but we adore the American Adventure pavilion for its restaurant, the art store, and its show (which is a great air-conditioned place to take a nap, by the way).

But now, as previously announced, you can see the new Portraits of Courage exhibit. This is a collection lent to Disney by former President George W. Bush. It was set to open on June 9th, but it opened early.

The Portraits of Courage exhibit is now open!

The full name of the exhibit is Portraits of Courage: A Commander in Chief’s Tribute to America’s Warriors. As you make your way around the gallery, you’ll see portraits of veterans each with a biography written by Bush.

Take time to peruse

There is also a display case with letters written to the former president out of gratitude for his support of the military community. It’s unclear how long this will be around, so stop by while you can.

Letters

If you’re heading to EPCOT soon, it’s going to look totally different! CommuniCore Hall and Plaza officially open on June 10th. This will feature a new Encanto-themed show, a festival area, and a new Mickey and Friends meet-and-greet spot.

The week after that, Test Track will close on June 17th to begin its retheme. We’ve seen some concept art of the new version Disney is creating — based on this we think there will be some nods to World of Motion, Test Track’s predecessor. We’ll just have to wait and see for sure! There is currently no reopening date or timeline for the ride.
