We’ve shared plenty of survival tips for dealing with that summer weather in the past, from recommendations on hydration spots to tips for what to pack in your park bag for survival. But if you’re heading to the theme parks this weekend, we’ve got a big warning for you!

Looking into weather reports for the upcoming weekend, things are going to be hotter than usual! Orlando is currently under a severe weather alert for “excessive heat” and high temps are in the upper 90s with “feels like” temperatures in the triple digits.

According to The Weather Channel, the high temperature for Saturday, June 8th and Sunday, June 9th will be 97 degrees. Some other weather channels and apps report this to be even higher at 99 degrees.

Thankfully, it looks as though things will begin to cool down in the middle of next week as thunderstorms pick up. Orlando has been in a bit of a dry spell, so it’ll be nice to see some rain (even though it will make things rather humid outside!).

So if you’re going to Orlando soon, what do you need to pack? Well, you’ll definitely want hats, sunglasses, and plenty of sunscreen, as well as any cooling devices like neck fans, hand fans, and cooling towels. All will be very useful!

On top of that, you’ll need to make sure to stay hydrated — heat-based illness is a real risk in this kind of weather! Pack an insulated water bottle, fill it up in the morning, and keep refilling it throughout the day. At the theme parks, you can get free cups of ice water from quick service restaurants.

For next week, make sure to pack those ponchos and rainjackets and umbrellas — it’s going to be wet and humid! Typically, the rain helps cool things down just a little bit, but the mornings before the storm might be a little rough.
