We eat in Magic Kingdom all. The. Time.

Seriously, we visit that park nearly every day of the week, so we’ve tried ALL the snacks, quick service spots, and table service restaurants. With years of food opinions and experiences, we’ve got some very important advice about what NOT to eat in Magic Kingdom!
Lunch at Be Our Guest Restaurant
Let’s start out with Be Our Guest Restaurant! While this restaurant has excellent theming and we’ve had some pretty good meals there recently, there’s definitely a time and place for Be Our Guest. And our recommendation? Don’t go there for lunch!

Be Our Guest used to offer a quick service lunch and it was spectacular — you could see the stunning atmosphere while paying MUCH less than you would at dinner. But nowadays, you’re paying the full fancy meal price whether you dine for lunch or dinner.

Hot Dogs That Aren’t From Casey’s Corner
Casey’s Corner is a Magic Kingdom staple and our big recommendation for where to go if you want a hot dog. You can find them in other spots around the park, but they’re just not quite as good as a Casey’s dog.

At Casey’s, you can get your hot dog topped with chili cheese, barbecue, or you can order it in corn dog nugget form (our personal fave!). All great options, and all very American.

Turkey Legs
Turkey legs are one of Disney World’s most classic snacks, but that doesn’t necessarily mean that they’re good. Some people like them, but for the most part, we find them to be salty, heavy, a little greasy, and VERY meaty.

They’re probably a good novelty to get one time, but we’re definitely not reaching for a turkey leg over and over again. They’re very heavy for theme park food, and we don’t have time for naps on our busy park day!

Giant Lollipops
In many of the gift shops, you’ll find these giant character lollipops on display, and we suggest you steer your kids CLEAR of them. They’re colorful and enticing, but they’re SO messy!

They’re essentially just sticky sugar and they’re difficult to wrap up and keep for later. A fairly overpriced treat that parents often regret!

Caramel Apples
Caramel apples are such a fun treat to watch the Cast Members make in the Main Street Confectionery window, but they’re incredibly difficult to eat! Disney used to offer to cut them up when you purchased one, but that hasn’t been an option since the pandemic.

You might get a few bites into your apple before you get full, and then the apple inside is going to turn brown and that caramel will melt all over everything. Do yourself a favor and get something a little easier to transport!

Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe
Pecos Bill Tall Tale Inn & Cafe is a Frontierland spot that offers quick service Tex-Mex food, but it has taken a turn downhill in the past few years. The meat quality isn’t quite what it used to be, but on top of that, they’ve taken away the toppings bar!

The best thing about Pecos Bill used to be its glorious toppings bar where you could load up your tacos with deliciousness, but now you’ll either have to request your toppings or pay extra for them, depending on what you get. Big sad.

Snacks from Starbucks
We’re no strangers to a midday Starbucks visit, especially when we need that caffeine pick-me-up. However, we don’t recommend you get your snacks from Main Street Bakery unless you’re buying something unique.

Why not? Well, most of the treats in the bakery case at Starbucks are snacks that you can get at your home location. Don’t waste your time with the breakfast sandwiches, pastries, and cake pops when you can buy those after vacation!

Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar
In a similar vein, we might not always recommend that you get a Mickey Premium Ice Cream Bar (I know, blasphemy!). The thing is, nowadays you can typically buy these at your local grocery store.

There’s something really special about eating a Mickey bar by the castle, so we totally get it if you ignore this advice. However, if you’re having to choose between snacks, it might be a good idea to pick something you can’t get at home.

Prepackaged Rice Krispie Treats
Last but not least, we’ve got to talk about the prepackaged Rice Krispie treats! We’re big fans of Rice Krispie treats in Disney World, and they make some really cute designs to put on display in the bakery cases. There’s a right way to order one, though!

ALWAYS pick your Rice Krispie treat from the bakery case instead of the prepackaged ones you see on shelves in Main Street Confectionery! Why? The prepackaged ones are often stale and not as fresh as the newly made ones in the cases. Trust us!

Are they selling those containers to keep your lolli pop fresh? I thought I saw a post on that. It makes it much easier to say yes when the kiddos are wanting one but you know very well they won’t finish it and you have a sticky mess to wrap up.
Hi Cali! Yes, I saw the lollipop savers yesterday. Those were a genius invention to keep the sticky mess contained.
