The HUGE Hotel Perk Disney World Needs to Add ASAP

When you’re staying at a Disney World hotel, those perks are like the cherry on top!

We’re talking about things like Early Theme Park Entry, Extended Evening Hours, and even complimentary access to a Disney Water park coming in 2025.  Those are great perks and all, but we still feel like there’s one that’s glaringly missing. It’s a perk that’s available at Disney’s rival and could make a HUGE difference if Disney added it ASAP.

As we mentioned, perks like Early Theme Park Entry and Extended Evening Hours are pretty great if you’re staying at one of Disney World’s hotels. That being said, Disney could go the extra mile and offer Genie+ as a perk similar to what Universal Orlando does with their Express Pass.

So, what’s the deal? I’m so glad you asked. The short of it is that Express Pass is Universal’s way for you to skip the lines (very similar to Genie+ at Disney World.)

It’s a much easier system to use. No need to book a time for any rides. All you do is walk up when you’d like to skip it, and you can! You also don’t need to worry about the express line “selling out” halfway through the day, which is a relief.

If you stay at one of Universal’s Premier hotels (similar to the Deluxe Resorts at Disney World), you’ll get Unlimited Express Passes each day of your stay for your whole family FOR FREE! As a Disney fan, this is shocking, especially when you consider the cost of Express Pass, which is incredibly more expensive than Genie+.

Universal’s Express Pass ranges from $79.99 to $289.99 per person, per day, while Universal Express Unlimited ranges from $109.99 to $319.99 per person, per day. The price depends on the day and time of year you’ll be going, but even the lower end of the scale is WAY higher than Disney World.

So this perk isn’t technically free since you’re paying for the hotel to get it, but it makes so much economic sense.

If Disney wants to stay competitive, especially with Epic Universe about to open, they should seriously consider adding Genie+ as a perk for staying in one of its hotels (at least in the Deluxe category).
