Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park stands out among the rest — it’s just so unique! Some might say it’s a “half-day” park, but if you ask us, there is plenty to see and do while you’re there.

You can check out all the different animal exhibits, experience Everest and all that Pandora has to offer, and of course — indulge in some of the delicious eats! Speaking of which, a popular Animal Kingdom restaurant has just gotten a bit of an update and we’re checking it out.
Harambe Market is a quick-service restaurant located in the Africa section of Disney’s Animal Kingdom theme park. Here, you’ll find eats like chicken and shrimp rice bowls, pita sandwiches, french fries, mango cheesecake, and more. And now, a new seating area has opened up here!

Up until recently, this area was closed off behind construction walls which left us wondering exactly what Disney was up to behind the scenes. But now we know, and we have to say, we’re digging the new spot!

This covered seating area is perfect for a respite from the sun while you enjoy your eats. There are plenty of tables and chairs — including some six and eight tops which is great for bigger groups — and some fun theming to boot.

You’ll also find some stations set up with napkins at utensils just in case you forgot to grab them when you picked up your food from Harambe Market. There’s nothing worse than being super hungry only to realize you forgot to grab a fork and you have to walk all the way back to the pickup window to get it!

We love the thatched roof and accent lamps along with the string lights. They really help tie this new seating area together and add it to the overall theming of Harambe Market.

This is a great place to come with your Harambe Market eats and drinks or even just to get out of the sun and rest for a bit. That Florida sun is no joke and it’s important to take breaks when you can!
